Instrumental guitar, improvised, one take (apart from the extra layer of chords in parts). All clean, and you can really hear the fabulous harmonic character of the Cruiser (neck) and Virtual Vintage (middle) pickups.

The Last Kingdom

I recorded this a couple of years ago, but I've recently gone back to it, finished it, and remixed it. I did a few tidier takes of the lead guitar after this, but I kept this one in the end because I really like how the harmonic frequencies came out in this recording.

The Monastery

A new track that I've been working on the last couple of weeks.....Imagine what your dreams would be like if you were the fastest travelling thing in the universe. This is the one that finally killed my PC! :-( End result being that it wasn't quite done but now I can't do anything else with it! Oh well.

In my usual style it's energetic but kind of dreamy too. No synths on this one, just loads of huge guitar tones and a beautiful delay with modulation, courtesy of a Red Witch Violetta Delay pedal (the clean guitar arpeggio melody).

Hyper Sleep

An unmastered, home-recorded original, part of my work-in-progress album project. Everything done by me.

This one is a 6/8, so it's got a nice-tempered swing and a general uplifting, hopeful feel.

Ascension

Again, an unmastered, home-recorded original from my work-in-progress album project, Lunar Garden. Everything done by me.

This one has a nice, big fat funky backbone and bags of energy.

Biscuithead

Title track from my work-in-progress, "Lunar Garden", includes a subtle reprise of a theme from the first track, "Ascension", but this time more hard-edged and serious. All work done by me.

Lunar Garden

Funk-rock guitar player from the UK, based in the south of England. Boosting the mids since 2001!

The most important things for me and my guitar playing are rhythm, tone and expression.

I play a couple of Ibanez guitars with DiMarzio and Bill Lawrence pickups. I use an old Hughes & Kettner Attax amp (!), an H&K Red Box D.I, a boost pedal and not a whole lot else.

I record direct through an analogue desk, to Cubase, and I use a TC Electronic rack unit for adding chorus and reverb, and some software plugins for delay.
