The name Bonemimori (in loving memory) comes from an engraving found on the Rialton Stone discovered at Rialton Barton, St Columb Minor, near Newquay. Dating from early 6th Century it is an early example of a Christian burial from Roman times in Cornwall.

The Nebra Sky Disc was discovered in Germany in 1999,from the Bronze age it is thought by some to be the oldest accurate picture of the night sky in all history. Both the Gold and tin used have been proved to have come from Cornwall.
