Germany's Defrostatica Records is slated to release "Hybrid Hooks" a monster 21 track compilation of uptempo club and rave bangers. The compilation  boasts an international line up of long standing
and new artists of Defrostatica Records such as Sinistarr, HomeSick, MorganNeiman, Greazus, Klose, Sam Binga, Jon1st, Sun People, Kiat, Anna Morgan, Detroit’s Filthiest, BSN Posse, Kabuki, Yazzus, Dispondant, Agzilla, Maltin Worf, DJ YumYum, Arcane, DJ Badshape, d’cure, Alza 54 and Jermainesoul.
The Leipzig label continues to blur the boundaries between jungle, footwork, juke and drum and bass with this collection of tunes. Each artist included was chosen for their work representing a refined sound identity within their cultural and musical context. This dynamic of diversity, inclusivity and mutual influence marks the DNA of Defrostatica.

"Phil called me up in the early Spring telling me a load of tall tales about apparently having been abducted by aliens. I didn't really know what to believe because the stories were all pretty weird tbh and I can't really go into it here but I'll just say he's soundtracked some of what happened in the form of a set of DJ tools for Astrophonica' This is going to be the third and final Philip D Kick release for Astrophonica to complete a trilogy. What the future holds who knows!"

- 03 - Electric Dream :
The realm of dreams has always been a major influence on my music.

Dreams, always in motion, always evolving and changing, offer us a distorted vision of the suggestions made by our unconscious about reality. It is both an escape from our being and an attempt at internal communication, sometimes gentle and fluid, sometimes violent and disturbing. 
Dreams have no code, no rules. It is not limited.

It's these different aspects that I'm trying to convey in my constantly evolving music, where repetition is never really repetition, where textures move, distort and merge, and where genres blend together to create something different and attempt to offer unexplored soundscapes.

- The album :
Four and a half years... That's how long it took me to write "Evolve". Four years of experimentation, encounters, inspiring friendships and joys, but also personal trials, disappointments and sorrows. All these emotions and more have fed into my music over the years, culminating in this project, which I consider to be the most complete I've produced to date.

Sharing this story with you is close to my heart, and I hope that together we can bring 'Evolve' to life, giving it a dimension far greater than a simple album: a shared dream, tinged with passion and creativity. Of course, this won't happen without your support, and the rewards I'm offering will encourage you to dive even deeper into this adventure.

Danny Scrilla returns for 2020 with six tracks of varying flavours for Cosmic Bridge. One of the key and foundational artists on the label, his sound is widely appreciated from forest raves to tiny basements alike.

This is a record that showcases just how diverse a producer he is without creating a sense of pastiche or hedge-betting. A record that will engage people from the opener 'Onyx', a low-slung swaying throwback to the days of 2011/2012 when Cosmic Bridge was cracking heads in the beats world and influencing other producers to follow suit, to the finalé 'A Stone Left Unturned', a nostalgic gentle number or the 'beats to study and chill to' fans but with production levels far above the all-too-often throwaway 'lo-fi' tag. The main body of the record takes in The grinding 85bpm sci-fi stepper 'World Below', the fast-paced Juke-inspired club groove 'Sparks', The space disco poolside chugger 'Suede Suit', and sends us all the way left to a valium-drenched underworld with the meditative and true-to-form abstraction of 'The Undying', again reminiscent of the labels roots in forward-thinking genre-shattering production for the heads.

'Daybreak' is yet another solidification of Danny's ongoing desire to keep pushing with authenticity rather than playing to any scene or idea that isn't his own. We are very pleased and proud to present a full-colour six track Vinyl and digital release that reflects this.

San steps forward with idiosyncratic, textured jungle for the modern era on his debut 12". Anxious and introspective throughout, San's detailed sound design and close control of intricate drum edits clearly mark his pedigree. The jungle alias of a Bristol based techno producer, the San project reflects upon the rave landscape of 2020, and finds it to be a dark place.

Included on the EP is a re-release of all three tracks, accompanied by remixes from Drumterror & B:Thorough, Groves and Fiesta Soundsystem.

Painting a picture of the jungle scene in 2020, ‘Surrey Street’ aesthetically pays homage to Croydon‘s roots within the scene, and features six sublime selections from some of the most exciting new names on the map over the past couple of years. Behind Sun People is Simon Hafner from Graz, who has been active as a DJ and producer for more than two decades. He has been merging Footwork, Jungle, and Techno influences into a unique and distinctive sound that led to releases on renowned labels like Exit, Rua Sound or Defrostatica. 

'Transitions', the 2021 mini-album for dBridge's Exit Records marks a high point in his career. Uptempo dance music with a twitchy energy and deft drum programming that still has depth and subtlety and a timeless feel. 

His latest release on Guides, a sub-label of Outlines, titled Joyful Discontent, is a tribute to minimalism, referencing the aesthetics of Clicks & Cuts.

In addition to his work as a musician and DJ, Sun People also pursues his musically versatile vision in a four-weekly radio show on London's Sub.FM. He is well known for his genre-bending sets and has played at clubs and festivals across Europe, including Dimension, Fusion, and Elevate.
