While Suzanne traveled with an expedition in Antarctica, it was a unique experience to watch penguins! The penguins were both elegant and playful. They waddled one by one across the ice and snow. It was mesmerizing! Diving in and out of the water, they always seemed to have a smile on their penguin faces. Suzanne viewed many penguin colonies in this pristine, mysterious, and untouched environment. Watching them was like encountering a penguin parade! This was the inspiration for "Penguin Parade."

Distance (Piano Day 2020)

The Italian title Torniamo dentro (Let's Go Back Inside) has a double meaning: the direct one ﻿(for instance: Let's go back inside home and have some dinner) and the allegorical (Let's go back inside within ourselves and look at our souls again).

In any case, the atmosphere is poetic, mysterious, delicate, hovering, levitating. The piece could go on sounding forever, it doesn't need to stop.

This piano piece was composed in Bremen, Germany, on 17 January 2018 and received its premiere at the Dorfgemeinschaftshaus, Sulzbach, Germany, on 2 September 2018.

My recent phase of recording real piano improvisations, continues with this piece entitled "Shadows". You may not believe me, but I literally sit down at the piano & let my fingers fall to a position on the keys. From there, I just start noodling around. Often, the first thing that happens, is the central part of the tune to come. I can't explain how this happens, but it is a real "rush" of an experience. Some musicians take drugs, smoke, drink or fornicate, but I chase this "natural high" of improvising as often as I can. Enjoy!

Old Secrets

I started off learning piano at around 6 years old, but only realised my ear for music when I could pick out melodies I heard on the radio & from then on I started writing my own music & playing long into the night, to the point where my parents told me to stop so they could go to sleep!
In my teenage years I joined bands & learnt basically on the fly how to work as a group. Once I realised that keyboards were not as portable & able to be played on beaches / around campfires, I taught myself guitar. By adding drums, harmonica & bass to my arsenal, the stage was set for a fully working band to record in my garage. Since setting up my home studio, I love recording a tune each week & especially love collaborating with all the extremely talented musicians on soundcloud. I'm a full time musician, with many different hats in the music community. Including songwriter, composer, live musician & blog writer.
