A little musical tribute to the amazing and inspiring video game Ori and the Blind Forest by Moon Studios. The original music this piece is based on - the game's Main Menu music - was composed by Gareth Coker featuring Aeralie Brighton. Check out Gareth's OST for the game because its mind blowingly good.

My version of Gareth's music came together in a few hours of messing around in Cubase. Recreated from scratch, I extended the piece and composed a short intro for some extra fun. For those who may want to know, Omnisphere, Nexus 2 and Kontakt are the main VSTs doing the work with some vocal samples to add atmosphere here and there. Sadly, recreating Aeralie Brighton's wonderously ethereal vocals wasn't possible because I'm a man who can't sing to save his life but rest assured I would have loved to have been able to add them.

Ori's Theme - Ori And The Blind Forest

A forum I use decided to have an informal music competition recently and the task was to compose music that represented "Heartbreak". This is my entry.

Vsts used: Mostly Nexus and Omnisphere which are my bread and butter synths for getting ideas sketched out quickly. I also used Massive to synthesise some ambient textures and to help bulk up the final mix.

Fading Lifesigns

The result of a quick studio session messing around with some new VSTs. 

It's a recreation of the mansion music featured in the original 1996 Resident Evil. This would play on a loop whilst exploring the first floor of the Spencer Mansion.

Snowfall Serenata

The vocal version of my instrumental cover of Quiet's Theme, in collaboration with Jayhan.

I'd always intended for my instrumental version to be a vocal production but after struggling to find the right vocalist, I decided to upload it without vocals so that fans of MGSV had something they could use to sing their own cover. Then I heard Jayhan's performance of the original theme and knew immediately that was the voice the track needed (check out her channel - link below!). 

So here is it, slightly different, with vocals and finished at last. I'd also like to say I've really enjoyed listening to all the covers out there that my instrumental has helped create. It's been received better that I ever thought it ever would. And finally, a big thank you to Jayhan!
