Soft, evolving dub shimmer. Goes nowhere, does nothing, but sounds pretty nice whilst it does it. Juno 106 + Syntakt.

Juno Dub

My aim for January 2023 was to make "something" per day for most of the month. All the sketches use the Elektron Analog Rytm and Analog Four (except the first one or two which use a Juno 106, a Syntakt and Generation Loss). 

Here's a lot of big words for some tiny sonic morsels...  Some of the influences and drives here include: funk, breakbeat, afrobeat, house, techno, 80s EBM... I'm quite intrigued by the early to mid 80s new beat/new wave/early EBM.. the latter end of disco. I don't *like* a lot of it, no listen to it regularly. But there's something in those slower tempos, attitude and wider sonic spaces that keeps drawing me back as a reference point. I think the pace of it gives space for funk and shuffle; if you get the tone, sounds and transitions right, you can make people really freak out and dance like it's Where The Wild Things Are.

I've taken such a long break from music I don't know what to write here. My name's not about my Elektron Octatrack... it's more like an octopus reference. And maths. I suck at maths, but I rather like it and wish I was better. A bit like my  music...
