3 QUESTIONS to DOUGLAS GREED:

Q: The insiders know that Douglas is not your real name. So what´s the secret behind your artist name - if there is a secret? 

A: I used the be a little bit of a DOUGLAS COUPLAND fan boy. So I thought it would be a nice idea to call myself Douglas. 3 years ago I met him in hamburg, it was actually my birthday. I told him that he inspired me a lot and that I call myself Douglas because of him - I think he was a bit scared of me that moment. 


Q: During the years lots of people were talking about "move to Berlin, it´s the center of electronic music". Why did you not leave your hometown to follow the mass?


A: The place I live in Jena is a nice and easy going small-town in east germany. It´s all green over there - so why should I move to berlin?


Q: You had past releases on huge labels such as Freude Am Tanzen or BPitch Control. What can we expect this year?

A: I got a new project called EATING SNOW with my buddy MOORYC. We will release our debut album in september on Freude Am Tanzen.

"Here is my set recorded from DISTRIKT 2017, Tuesday 3 pm. It was a record hot Burn this year and the day already blazing. With 10 minutes before my set, a mob of clouds rolled in to save the day. The crowd started filling in quickly. I kept it weird, deep, dark, light, techy, minimal with a splash of dub, and always fucking groovy. The Funkworks Funktion One's are always a pleasure to play on, especially with Cody Kane dialing the sound. And the stage this year was so dope. 

Camping with DISTRIKT was an awesome experience. The amount of energy, blood, sweat, and love that goes into this camp is incredible. Much respect to my DISTRIKT family. You are all crazy and I love you all!

I am blessed to share my passion with everyone. This year was full of challenges and many rewards. This moment was one of the highlights of my existence."

"B.O.C. has become such an institution in this town and we were thrilled and anxious to play the main inside stage at 8 am this year bright and early. We had a great crew of friends and family surrounding the stage and Mighty was already packed.  As we did last year, I played with my fellow band members Joel Kellogg on bass and Homer Hsu on violin.  We came up with a  sultry and sexy house mix that we thought would be rockin' those wee hours in the morning.  Many of the revelers there had been up all the night and the crowd and energy was electric inside.  Even with Nicole yanking a plug and stopping the music half way through our set, it didn't hamper the mood at all.  We rocked on through to one of my favorite sets of all time.  Thanks to the Space Cowboys for continuing to give us this grand stage to showcase our energy and vibe." - Clarkie
