This is the third DJ mix I've released in the lead up to the release of my debut Cptn Jay - "Loves You (EP)"! This time my original track "Heartbeat Tone" is featured, nestled in at the end there.

The track, and this mix in general, carries with it my deep hope if we all still our minds, listen to our hearts, and put more unconditional love out into the world that we will, very tangibly and directly, make our world a better place.

The seventh edition of The One Series: www.facebook.com/TheOneSeries took place in Los Angeles on Friday 28th February. Despite the biblical storms that lashed the city that day, a sell out crowd of 400 joined forces with our co-promoters The Cruz Coalition to create a spectacular journey of light & sound.

Simon Shackleton: www.facebook.com/djeliteforce once again took to the decks for 6 straight hours, with guest appearances during the night from the excellent improv violinist, Maki Hsieh, and Lauren Shaw performing gravity-defying hoopla.

These sets at the Nutz camp have grown organically in the 5 years I have been doing them for, and have been the catalyst for a sea of change in my own personal musical appreciation. They've shown and encouraged me to dig deep into electronic music, looking for a spiritual dimension ... they have stretched me mentally and physically, and in doing so I see myself leaving my past behind in all it's forms.

They have also encouraged and enthused me to produce music under my real name (Simon Shackleton), to launch the Stereophoenix label which is now my primary recording outlet, and to launch and develop The One Series, a vehicle for further long sets such as these.

Burning Man is pure, raw, inspiration. Each year is very different and you get the Burn you need rather than the Burn you want. This year was my personal favourite of the 6 I've been to ... it was beautiful, intimate, inspiring, passionate, flawless ... and as my heart & soul moves further away from the EDM-heavy festival stages of the night time, I feel more engaged than ever before with this music, and more importantly this incredible sense of community that Burning Man engenders.

Woogie Weekend Warmup Mix - Adam Freeland at Coachella 2015

That was a *truly* unforgettable night in London.

We've had some amazing boat parties over the years, but it felt like there was something particularly special in the air. The transition to a One Series set was *so much fun* for me personally, starting out with some low slung funk & percussive deep house, rolling through the gears with some widescreen tech & bass house and finally bringing home the bacon with an anthemic outburst of classic techno.

I can't thank family and friends enough for being so supportive, so engaged, so welcoming, and so THERE. Such a spectacular, and special night. Thank you all.

This was my 11th burn. I had taken a year off, so was hoping for big things. The playa didn’t disappoint. As I approached the DISTRIKT booth that afternoon, a massive dust storm was in full force. The Robot Heart bus had plugged in earlier, teaming up with the DISTRIKT Funktion-One to create an unforgettable sound. The crowd was electric like I’ve never seen. Thank you to everyone who was there to share that very special evening in epic DISTRIKT fashion. This was one for the record books. Enjoy!

Welcome to the 3rd instalment of TSOOE. I have labelled this one Empathetic Estates as to me this was what this years rainbow represented for me. It was all about exploring my ability to empathise and connect through understanding. This year rainbow felt very warm and welcoming; creating the most fitting environment to practice this state of emotion. Empathy is an act of will and imagination. It is an act of will because it involves a conscious decision to direct our attention away from our own concerns to the concerns of others. It is an act of imagination because it invites us to reflect on what it must be like to be experiencing life in someone else’s circumstances. It requires a deep level of understanding and awareness. Although we are born with an innate capacity for empathy, it is a skill which requires practice and cultivation. It seems to be grounded in an innate capacity to associate the bodily movements and facial expressions one sees in another with the proprioceptive feelings of producing those corresponding movements or expressions oneself. Humans seem to make the same immediate connection between the tone of voice or bodily expressions with inner feelings. Of particular focus was somatic empathy; which is a physical reaction, probably based on mirror neuron responses, in the somatic nervous system. In humans, brain activity consistent with that of mirror neurons has been found in the premotor cortex, the supplementary motor area, the primary somatosensory cortex and the inferior parietal cortex. Some researchers speculate that mirror systems may simulate observed actions, and thus contribute to theory of mind skills and action coupling. A perfect example of this was the energy felt on Market Stage on Mad Monday. Rainbow facilitated such mirroring and allowed me the space to fully interact with my friends and seek to console more than to be consoled, to understand more than to be understood, and to love more than to be loved. Thank you to those who were there to experience this special moment for me and thank you rainbow for the amazing opportunity. I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed playing it on the chill stage as the sunrise slowly developed and so begun a beautiful day. Love Bec <3
