When I was a kid (maybe 9 or 10), there was a band that played jazz standards at the beach near my house. This was a group of older people (maybe in their 40s or 50s but they seemed really old at the time) that just really enjoyed playing jazz. They let me stand in as their drummer on occasion and it fueled my love of rhythm and improvisation. I never became a drummer because I just loved melodic things a bit too much, but that drummer will always be a part of me. It’s mixes like this that honor my inner drummer, moving away from the melodic and progressive and just plain embracing some funky, nasty breakbeats.

I listened to this mix and I figured I could present you with a better sounding version.  So here's the attempt.  I did this at night with headphones on, but I think it's an improvement. Evolving from the fabric of the quintessential British council estate Simon has clawed his way across the globe to open Shrine Studios, an A list commercial production recording studio in the entertainment capital of the world...Las Vegas! In the early 90s Simon cut his teeth in the UK Rave scene and pirate radio before moving stateside to smash the global dance music scene for the next 3 decades. Raised through the explosion of UK rave culture it’s no surprise his hi octane intoxicating sets have lit dance-floors on fire across the world. Simon was instrumental in the introduction of the harder styles of electronic dance music to North America whilst carving out his own niche genre that was coined “Breaks and Bass” which opened the doors with monster global brands such as Warner, Sony, Decadance, Resist, Slammin’ Vinyl, Hardcore Heaven, Ministry of Sound, Bonkers, React and many more. Today Simon is in full time production working with a wide range of iconic artists including KRS-One, Amy Grant, Kathy Brown, Luciano and The Foundry whilst also engineering full time for the legendary Grammy award winning dance music artist Lee Dagger from the iconic Bimbo Jones. Lee and Simon recently partnered on a new collaborative project titled "Future Collective" that delivers a power house 4 to the floor sonic that has exploded right out of the gate with electric DJ sets and an incredible live show that delivers a riveting sonic journey of live instrumentation through the most iconic eras of dance music creating an EPIC dance floor atmosphere! The hundreds of single releases between them have created over 85 Billboard #1 dance music hits, over 100 top 10 digital releases, two Billboard Number 1 hits, multiple Grammy nominations and a Grammy win!
