D Minor releases New Single 'Homerun' featuring Zeek Power, to help bring an end to homelessness

D Minor hits the ball out of the park and scores a grand slam with his stellar new single ‘Homerun’ which features vocalist Zeek Power (Grand Finalist on The Voice 2019).

Homerun is a celebration of coming full circle from the challenges D Minor has faced in his past, putting his homelessness behind him, smashing goals and continuing to strive forward to keep achieving his dreams through music; something D Minor has always been drawn to and has helped him navigate through extremely difficult situations that no youngster should have to face in this day and age.

The chorus for Homerun was co-written by ARIA award winner Conrad Sewell. Conrad and D Minor met through their involvement with Sony Foundation Australia and decided to team up to create Homerun due to their mutual passion for music and desire to bring hope to the youth of today.

Zeek Power who features as the vocalist on the chorus of Homerun has been fulfilling his own dreams, making it through to The Voice 2019 Grand Finale as the final artist on Kelly Rowlands’ team.

Homerun was recorded at the MMAD social enterprise studio and mastered by Tony Mantz of Jack The Bear’s Deluxe Mastering. Artwork was captured and designed by Michaela Taylor.

Following the release of previous single ‘Concrete Pillow’ (featuring Alli Simpson) and through D Minor performing the hit single on Australia’s Got Talent 2019 as his audition which bought tears to the crowd, connected with the viewers watching at home and sent him straight to the Semi Finals; the single Concrete Pillow has reached over 11 million views worldwide.

D Minor has been inundated with requests to visit communities, refuges and schools all over Australia and internationally to share his story of overcoming some of life’s biggest struggles at such a young age, coming out the other side with a positive attitude and ultimately winning.

The near future will see D Minor tour 50 schools and homeless venues to speak to the youth of Australia and as an ambassador with MMAD, he will mentor 10 young people to overcome homelessness. D Minor provides living proof that they can overcome any negative setbacks life throws their way and achieve huge success.

D Minor is encouraging and inspiring our younger generations to share their own voice, reminding them of the endless possibilities they are capable of and what the future can bring if you keep your eye on the prize and stay focussed on your goals of what you aspire to be when you ‘grow up’.

With 50% of all publishing proceeds for Homerun being directed straight back to MMAD to pursue this admirable cause, your support will have a direct impact on those suffering this devastating issue that more than 115,000 Australian’s have endured (based on 2016 Census data, with statistics rising by almost 15,000 in just five years since 2011).
