Alice Moxom—better known by her stage name, Moxie—started out as a radio DJ on Kiss FM and NTS before playing parties and touring full-time. Now she has a label and party series that she curates called On Loop, which has invited artists like Matthew Herbert, Josey Rebelle, Leon Vynehall, K-Hand and Joy Orbison, in venues across Europe and the UK. The key to her success, she says, is that she hasn't rushed anything in her career. "Your sound can evolve and you can change," she says. "If you're thinking about this as a real career, the [opportunities] will always come around." 

In this episode of Resident Advisor's Exchange—the second in a three-part masterclass series called Future Proof, a collaboration with Rhythm Section—co-host Bradley Zero says that Moxie is "one of the most organized and graceful DJs on the circuit." She reveals how she has steadily built a career from the ground up, detailing how she's developed a synergistic relationship with her booking agent; selectively chosen gigs and mix opportunities; maneuvered stylistically without confusing promoters; and cultivated lasting relationships with a team of people she trusts. Today we are premiering a fantastic remix work of Warning resident Mars Leder. His flip for 'Six Million Ways To Live' by RANDOM DATA comes out today on fragmented:, young label from Dresden with close bounds to beloved Objekt klein A.

While the original track is a bass-heavy tune driven by a pervasive Eastern synth, Mars Leder's interpretation lifts the vibe with a melodic twist paired with the punchy kick game characteristic for his productions. 

The EP is out today on vinyl and digital, available from Bandcamp and other stores. By buying this release, you are not only supporting a great label, but also the NGO 'Mission Lifeline', who are working tirelessly on sea rescue in the Mediterranean.

For the first episode we invited all-round good guy DJ Liang @dj_liang. As a dedicated selector DJ Liang has developed a quality sound over the years which has earned him several radio residencies and gigs across Europe.

From his current home in California, he brings us an exciting mix that features a warm house sound that would not be out of place at the club or festival.

Simon Da discovers the world of Djing in 2017 where he participates in the project Son Of House in Lyon. The Terminal club becomes his second residence where he was performing  for the first time on Cdj 2000 turntables. From this day, he tirelessly explores dancefloors from the western world, from Melbourne to Berlin including Paris and Barcelona. Model and photographer, music finally offers him the possibility to express his artistic sensitivity on a deeper level. Thanks to his wealth of experiences, he creates an authentic and paradoxical musical identity. His style, opposing lightness and depth is inspired from different universes such as down tempo, house, industrial and melodic techno. It is undoubtedly influenced by Berlin’s vibes. Very mindful to his audience, he easily reaches symbiosis with it.
