Pakate Records keeps the momentum going and steps up the game, offering one of its essential packages to date. The vibrant city of Miami resonates loudly on this one, becoming the core of two hefty collaborations between label head Jean Pierre and Natalia Roth. Entitled "Pitch Black" EP also features three stellar remixes: two by Djebali and one by Sakro. Both the originals recall fast-paced, heads-down scenarios, with JP and Natalia joining forces for some proper underground material. Droves of ethnic percussions get melted with modular bleeps, scattering effects, and deadly sharp grooves for two hypnotic, rumbling tunes. Pitch and chords overlap, giving rise to a jumble of sounds that resonate within the ears with the collision of the sounds and emotions. On the remix duties, Parisian veteran Djebali offers two reinterpretations of "Monologue" - conveying a sense of mystical wonder, exploring enchanted rooms with some slick drum programming: a late-night dive into the minimal house realms. Lastly, Mexican artist Sakro opts for a shimmering, bumpy remix of "Pitch Black" by upping the tempo and drawing on his recent house & electro influences, delivering a filthy and swirling production destined for the later hours.
