VOYAGER is a musical opera to tell a story, the story of a big journey across the space.

This is the soundtrack of an imaginary story of a space traveller that comes from the outer space, maybe another universe, approaching our Solar System, discovering it for the first time.

I imagine to tell this incredible journey with music, starting from the extreme periphery of our system up to its center, the Sun.

To tell this story, I’m using both synthesizers and acoustic instruments, with a kind of hybrid “synth & symphony” orchestra. 

I really enjoying to combine so apparently distant sounds into a consistent and vibrant musical universe.

VOYAGER - A Journey Across the Solar System

I wrote this piece years ago, in 2005. It was never released before but it was a constant presence in my head. It was my timeless melody, every time, every place.
I’ve recorded and published it now, 16 years later: today, this piece is detached from any story, it doesn't represent something or someone. It's just itself. It's simply its own blend of notes, harmony and emotions. I hope that anyone can find the personal own mind space in it.

Timeless

This is the opening track of my new album VOYAGER, a musical opera to tell a story, the story of a big journey across the space.

This is the soundtrack of an imaginary story of a space traveller that comes from the outer space, maybe another universe, approaching our Solar System, discovering it for the first time. 

This incredible journey starts from the extreme periphery of our galaxy… the Orion Arm.

The Solar System is here, in all of its majesty and beauty. This great exploration has just begun: imagine to see the whole system at a glance, a wide space-landscape made by planets, asteroids and other innumerable small cosmic bodies, all in front of your eyes. What could be the feeling?

Entering the Solar System

When you enter the Solar System, the Kuiper Belt is the large region made by small bodies, mainly composed by frozen volatiles such as methane, ammonia, and water. The Kuiper Belt also hosts some dwarf planet and asteroids… the adventure is beginning, our space traveller is inside our system!

Meet the incredible travellers of our Solar System: comets are some of the most fascinating bodies of our universe corner. Imagine to fly with them, admiring all of their ethereal beauty.

Comets

Another place into our journey: this cosmic giant is a far and mysterious world. What would its land and atmosphere be like? How could you imagine its icy landscapes?

Uranus

The first planet we encounter is this icy giant. Neptune is made by gas and liquids: its name is inspired to the ancient roman god of the sea. A unique place, a great incredible place to visit. This music is as powerful and intense as the legends this planet evokes.

This is one of the most fascinating planets of our system: its ring system and its moonlets are something unique to see and travel to. Our voyager will have incredible flights over that planet, enchanted by this incredible space landscape. Look at Saturn and feel that sense of freedom, the emotion of something deeply beautiful.

Saturn

The biggest planet of the system: a huge gas giant that has the same name of the king of Romans gods, Jupiter. Like the ancient god powers, Jupiter athmosphere is characterised by heavy storms and powerful lightnings. The famous Great Red Spot is a permanent gigantic storm, the most powerful one, a giant mass of power in motion, the eye of the ancient king of gods.

Jupiter

The adventure continues across the Asteroid Belt, the region of our system located between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars, made by a lot of asteroids and minor planets. I imagine this exploration like a sort of risky space-dance characterised by so fascinating as unpredictable movements.

The red planet. A big desert. A new land for humans, an old planet for space voyagers. A fascinating mistery. What was here long time ago?

Mars

Voyager is arrived on planet Earth, the mother of life, the temple of beauty. A world with an incredible variety of habitats and landscapes, colors, life forms, natural events. It's something really unique into the Solar System. Maybe even outside? For sure it's a unique gem in this part of the universe. This song is a hymn to the most incredible and precious thing we have: our home.

Earth

And now we meet Venus, an incredibly hot place, with a size similar to planet Earth, but totally desolate. The name of this fashinating planet comes from the ancient roman goddess of love. So we can look at Venus hearing this melancholic and solitary waltz lost in the space.

Venus

With the ancient roman name of the gods messenger, Mercury is the closest planet to the sun, the smallest in the system. The messenger, the voyager. We are very close to the core of this space experience.

I composed the track based on a harmonic and thematic loop that repeat itself increasing instrumentation on every repetition: the overlay of different melodies and patterns increase until the sound explosion of the second theme. 
The second theme opens overall atmosphere from minor to major, in a sort of escape from the loop, like the light on darkness: this is a passionate, almost romantic-style passionate theme. 
But at the end, there is no escape: a more intimate recall of the first theme closes this small musical journey, falling again in the starting loop.

Loop Rethinked

This piece feels very tender, with moments of pure rarefactions and reflections, but also passionate evolutions of the theme itself to express deep feelings and a great emotional involvement. The stronger part in the middle representing the exciting joy of life going to its apotheosis in a heartbeated vortex, rich of energy.
