This UK DJ duo are residents at Dubai’s #1 nightlife destination, Soho Garden, where they warm up for legends such as Sonny Fodera, MK, Claptone, Solardo & Fisher on a weekly basis. In their relatively short 3 year career they have already released on Solotoko, Abode and Toolroom Trax and now debut on Toolroom with ‘Vibration’. Both girls are incredibly passionate about house music and are also big advocates for a life centered around well-being and meditation, and the idea of this record was to combine their 2 passions in life, so they proceeded to co-write these original lyrics to accompany the track, which in itself is very inspiring!

Hannah Wants unveils Ghetto EP on DFTD, a return to her edgier, bass-heavy roots with two distinct tracks designed for the club. Hannah’s trajectory throughout 2023 was signposted by performances at flagship events including Defected Croatia, Defected’s Australasian Tour and The Warehouse Project. In 2024, her collaboration with Sam Divine and Jem Cooke, ‘Cruel Intentions’, kicked off the year before Hannah appeared on the ambitious livestream celebrating 25 years of Defected with 25 titan DJs playing B2B in 2024. After a string of releases showcasing her more emotive side on the London house label, Hannah Wants now returns to the bass house sound she helmed for over a decade, releasing Ghetto EP on sister label DFTD. The first of two deeper, headsier cuts, ‘Ghetto’ offers relentless club energy, with deep, percussive synths that hammer away underneath expressive audio sampling. ‘Let The Beat Talk’ follows, featuring frequent Plump Records collaborator Baby Luck on cool vocals, with its hard and tough sound shaking the floor as high frequency synths bubble overhead.

A minimalist, hypnotic techno piece built on a dry, pounding 4/4 kick, looped metallic percussion, and precisely-sculpted hi-hats. No melody, no lush pads — only granular noise textures and filter shifts creating a tense, dystopian atmosphere. Designed for warehouse floors and late-night ritual sets.

Concept:
Inspired by the Yangtze River’s descent from the frozen silence of the Tibetan Plateau to the industrial haze of the Shanghai delta.
Each section mirrors a transformation:
– Highlands: low drones, wind textures, and frost-coated tones.
– Heartland: metallic density, distortion, and hydraulic motion.
– Delta: frequencies dissolve into haze — the sound of progress and decay merging into one.

No vocals. No melody. Just mechanical hypnosis and the slow erosion of form.

Dubbed Defected’s ‘secret weapon’ by label boss Simon Dunmore, Low Steppa’s ferocious DJ sets and club-focussed productions have earned him a reputation as an authority on dancefloor dynamics. Now, following a remix from house master Harry Romero, Low Steppa steps up to turn his hand at Jack Back & CeCe Roger’s thunderous cut ‘Freedom’ with two expertly crafted mixes. His first remix is an adrenaline fuelled, explosive and rave-ready cut that would fit seamlessly into one of the Defected resident’s sets. Up next his Boiling Point remix takes a more stripped back approach, with driving synths and percussive breaks.
