Even though Mad Mats and Tooli runs a 'house label' we hope our various influences from other musical genres shine through the label's vast catalog. One strong influence on Local Talk is of course jazz, in any shape or form. So on our new '-ish' compilation series we thought we begin here...Jazz-ish.

The compilation is full of personal favorite jams from Local Talk. But some tracks stand out a little extra. Kai Alce's melodic remix of Munk is a personal fave and a true beauty, Kaidi Tatham's mix of Coflo is proper UK jazz-fusion boogie (ish.), Dean Zepherin's 'Blue Moon' is a classy jazz-funk number and Ron Trent's remix of Kyoto Jazz Sextet is as deep-jazz as it gets. Bio: 
First experiences with Hip Hop, Michael Jackson, The Prodigy and lots of Dance music in the late 90s up to his first beats, scatching experiences and Freestyle sessions in the early 2000s, Simon is exploring more and more electronic music playgrounds. 

Through his work at a his good friend's record store and his first techno parties, he learned a lot about deejaying and other music genres. 

These years were to create a mastery in melodic electronica and shape a deeper perspective that has found home on several labels all around the globe. 

Simon’s music is an anomaly that arose not as a result of a scene but from his concentrated efforts as a fun-loving individual with like-minded buddies. 

Citing influences such as hip-hop, drum&bass, soul, jazz, soundtracks, videogames, Simon identifies himself as a Producer and a DJ

Simon is also releasing downbeat, instrumental HipHop beats under his nickname "Mr.Backside".
