Brooklyn-based duo Anden deliver their remix of Genix & JVMIE’s ‘I’m Awake’, out now.

Tom and Pete Cuppernull, aka Anden, first crossed paths with our label in 2019, remixing Fatum, Genix, Jaytech & Judah’s super-collaboration ‘All In’. They’ve gone from strength to strength in recent years, forming a close partnership with Yotto’s Odd One Out label and releasing on Deep State, DIYNAMIC, Katermukke and Eleatic Records. Their debut album ‘Youth Is Wasted on the Young’ landed on Odd One Out in November 2021.

Our remix is inspired by the sounds of his nostalgic ‘199X’ album, as well as a string of acid techno parties we attended last fall. The result marries JVMIE’s serene vocals with the melodic and acid worlds." - Anden

Genix’s debut album ‘199X’ was released on Anjunabeats in September 2021. It’s a departure from the sound that Damo is best known for: through the late 2000s and 2010s, he caught the ear of Armin van Buuren and Paul van Dyk with his textured, melodic take on trance. He secured releases on both Armada and Vandit, before arriving on Anjunabeats in 2010.

Talla 2xlc returns on Technoclub Retro with his excellent remake of the rave classic The Future, co-produced with the original artist Jens Lissat. The Future firstly appeared on the legendary German imprint No Respect in 1994, and is considered to be one of the most characteristic, and authentic hard trance tracks of all time. Talla 2XLC, currently with super busy tour schedule during summer performing in the most important festivals and club events, and Jens Lissat who is worldwide known German DJ, producer and label owner with more than 40 years in the club world producing from rave, trance, house and lately techno with the nickname "Godfather Of Techno". As it happens with all Talla 2XLC remakes, he respects the original versions and follow them faithfully by adding modern uplifting elements. Energetic pounding drums, metallic dynamic basslines, punchy in your face kicks and little hints of the well known trance riff of the original plus the well known characteristic  female vocal sample “The Future”. The breakdown is as long as it needs to build high tension and infect the listener with its unforgettable synth hook along with the cool vocal line. You can imagine how mush surprised the audience will be when they will realize which classic track is playing that will bring memories from rave parties and sweaty club nights. The younger trance followers will be pleased with the result that perfectly merges the rave tension of the 90’s with the full on hands in the air trance sound of 2024.
