We are proud to welcome 70 artists from around the world to the 2016 Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal from September 24 to October 28. These artists from all corners of the globe will be invited to the Academy home at Phi Centre to take part in workshops, lectures and studio sessions with some of the best in their field, and also perform at a few of the city’s most esteemed venues.

DUSTY - WE RIDE (FREE)

She doesn’t walk — she glides on sub-bass. Empress Riddim descends like temple mist at midnight, guzheng strings slicing through breakbeats like calligraphy in motion. This is the jungle throne room: where the riddim bows, the drums kneel over rolling snares.

Crafted in the deepest halls of the Dreamhollow pagoda, this track fuses ‘93 jungle pressure with the grace of ancient dynasties. Bone-snapping kung fu FX, sparse bamboo flute stabs, and spectral operatic hits summon a riddim of both elegance and menace.

Move gently. Or don’t. The Empress is watching.
