The song is from the times of the handweavers,  it's author unknown, where skilled craftspeople laboured at home to produce textiles - the unrequited love of the weaver for his beloved. It's thought to have come from 17th Century Ireland but we can't be sure.
This track was recorded in 2003 in the most rustic of recording situations in the Hills region of Perth's Darling scarp, right at the top, in Mt Helena. It was the very first recording project we embarked upon together - We were, at the time, young and in love - with each other and the traditional music of our shared culture. We hope you enjoy the fruits of our labour.
