Some time ago I had the idea to create a new VSTi-based guitar sound of a raw (slightly distorted) clean electric guitar in the typical style of the 80s with my awesome guitar amplifier Vandal.

I decided to make an entire remix of the opening theme of a former TV series which I really liked in these days.
I've chosen the opening theme of Baywatch - not just because of the lovely babes 'n' boobs stuff but also 'cause of the very melodic composition. I really like the interesting piano part.
The original of my remix - a song named „I'm Always Here“ - was made by the band Jimi Jamison's Survivor with the singer Jimi Jamison himself. 

It took me some time to find the right VSTis 'n' synthesizers for this track, to correct the notes for the guitar stuff and to create some fitting playing techniques, setting up the drums or finding the right expressions for the piano part wherefore I've used a sustain pedal connected to my MIDI keyboard.
After arranging and mixing it several times and listening to this track on different sound systems I'm pretty satisfied with the results now.
I really like the counterparts between the clean electric guitar and the pop brass trumpets as well as the leading piano part towards the end.

In this new update of my remix I've made following further changes:

1) First of all, I've set up a whole new mixing and used a really wide stereo field for a much cleaner sound - especially for the sake of the piano parts.
2) I've changed some VSTi settings at nearly each virtual instrument and synthesizer in the soundtrack and I worked much more on the velocity and humanisation of the notes for a more meaningful and natural sound. 
3) I've improved the sound and the composition/notation of the standard piano parts.
4) Of course I've created a much better sounding and more atmospheric piano part - the piano part towards the end.
5) And finally, I've put a bit more fire and variety in the ordinary drums section. For the beginning as well for the ending of my remix I used some pretty hot 'n' heavy industrial percussion VSTi stuff from my Independence Pro library. 

A soundtrack really made for celebrating summer time.
