My first track on SoundCloud. Here, I cover the SMB1 ghosthouse theme from Super Mario Maker, but this time using actual instruments from Super Mario Bros, because to me, it didn't feel like an actual SMB1 theme without the instrumentation from the real game. I plan to do some more covers from other games using SMB1's instruments if I have the time and patience to do such things.

Super Mario Maker - SMB1 Ghosthouse (with Native SMB1 Instruments)

My first NES Music Comparison in a series of tracks. I compare the third track from the licensed Nintendo version of Tetris. Here, we listen to the NTSC version, then we listen to the PAL version, then we listen to the same song played on an NTSC Famiclone (note the swapped duty cycles), then we listen to the same track being played on a Dendy Famiclone. I plan to do more in the future. I don't do requests normally, so don't expect me to do a similar thing to say, Super Mario Bros. 3. That may change in the future though, so I'll see, though if I do take requests, I won't be able to do all of them due to my busy schedule.

NES Tetris (1989) Music C Comparisons (NTSC NES, PAL NES, Famiclone, Dendy)

This is my third track on here and my first in a series of tracks done in the instrumentation and style of Super Mario Bros. 3, because why the heck not, since SMB3 is one of my favorite games and I always loved the instrumentation in that game. My first track in this series will be the Metal Max Battle Theme, done with SMB3 instruments. Hope you enjoy it.

Metal Max - Battle Theme (SMB3 2A03 Remix)

Hoi! This is my second track done in the style of Super Mario Bros. 3. This is one of a few songs in the game that are classified as being one of my favorites, so I wanted to do a remix of it, sort of as a proof of concept, if you will. This is what the track would've sounded like if Mario was actually put into the game, or if there was a hack of SMB3 where you would play as Frisk. Either way, both ideas would be awesome to see. Recorded using real NES hardware using the NES PowerPak. If I have enough time on my hands, I might do another Undertale track in this style if I wanted to. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it. Also, I noticed that some notes are not correct compared to the original. Sorry about that. I also changed the overall key of the song to be a key higher than the original on purpose.

Undertale - Run! (SMB3 Remix)

Oh look! Another SMB3-styled track!
This is another track from Undertale, done in the style of Super Mario Bros. 3, again. This plays when encountering an enemy in Hard Mode. This was made with knowledge of the original track, so if some parts are wrong, I'm sorry. I have another Undertale track in the works at the moment, so hopefully when I'm done with that I will upload it too.
EDIT: Thank you guys for so many likes! It means a lot! In fact, I think it's time I reveal how I did this one, as well as my other Undertale track, Run! I used FamiTracker and an SMB instrument pack I found. This pack had all the instruments that SMB3 used such as the music box instrument used when putting a map enemy to sleep in SMB3. This pack also contained instruments from SMB1 and SMB2 (will have to use the SMB2 set in another track, but don't know which one would fit the style). Then an NSF (NES Sound Format) file is exported within FamiTracker itself, and is then copied onto my NES Power Pak cart. So in theory, one could use this in an SMB3 Undertale-themed hack. I will upload the NSF files that were used in the creation of these two Undertale tracks soon, so that you too can listen to the tracks as well.

Undertale - Stronger Monsters (SMB3 2A03 Remix)

This is a new thing I've never done before. I am starting a series where I cover Undertale songs in the style of the SNES version of Street Fighter II - The World Warrior/Hyper Fighting. I did this because I prefer the SNES versions of the previous SFII games in terms of gameplay and sound, but that's just me, and I don't think anyone has covered Undertale songs in this style, so I decided to take a stab at it myself. I'm pretty happy of how it turned out. I decided to put Frisk and Chara with Ryu and Ken, because I was a bit too lazy to edit Ryu's SFII portrait to look like Evil Ryu, and plus, it would take a lot of work just to edit a portrait with so many colors. And plus, Frisk and Chara look mearly identical anyways.

For anyone who is curious of what I used, I used a soundfont of the SNES version of SFII with FL-Studio as opposed to actual hardware this time. Undertale - Once Upon A Time (SNES Street Fighter II Remix)

Oh look! It's Toriel!
Well, this one was rather easy to do as the melody itself was simple, and so was this cover; two pulse channels and one triangle was all I needed for this song. In particular, I couldn't figure out which instrument would fit for this, and so I just stuck with the SMB3 music box/ending one.. I was surprised on how well it worked out.

Undertale - Fallen Down/Toriel (SMB3 2A03 Cover]

It's about time I didn't use SMB3 instruments this time around! But these were hard to work with!
This track was easy to do. I decided to do this one, because in my opinion, it's awesome. I wish it would've been used in the game, because in my opinion, it would've had some potential to be the battle theme for Sans. I always loved that Konami NES music style growing up as a kid playing the NES back in the day, so I figured, "Hey! Since I've been using SMB3 instruments for so long, why not take on a bigger challenge and try remixing songs in the Konami style?" The Konami instruments I was able to pull off with some difficulty, but in the end, I got it right. I decided to mash it up with one Konami track from the NES that I felt worked well with this song, and surprisingly it worked out in my opinion. Who knows, I might do another track in this style if I wanted to.

Undertale - Song That Might Play When You Fight Sans (Konami 2A03 Edit}

Just a little test on a new style I wanted to cover songs in, in addition to SMB3 remixes. I'll probably start off by doing Undertale songs first, since everyone seems to like those, but I might branch out and do other songs in this style.

New Style Test

Long ago, two beings ruled over the Earth: Frisk and Hummer the Adventurer

Well, first song using this new style. This is Once Upon a Time from Undertale, done in the style of Hummer Team (http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Hummer_Team), using their sound engine, well, technically originally Athena's DeBlock sound engine, but oh well.

Undertale - Once Upon A Time (Hummer Edit)

Well, this is something new that's not Undertale themed for now.
This is a recreation of an 8-bit rendition of Unchained Melody (original track performed by The Righteous Brothers) found in many Famicom multicarts that contain this track for the main menu (nicknamed the "Unchained Melody" multicarts by some). This is believed to be composed by someone who worked at NTDEC, since the sound engine is almost identical to their games, and to an extent, the sound engine used in Super Fighter III, whose soundtrack was also believed to be worked on by someone who worked at NTDEC itself. This isn't just a simple multicart with a dozen of unique games, but for me personally, it's much more than a cartridge. It's my childhood. Most of the games I played back in the day were taken from said multicarts until my parents had the money to shelve out a real NES with some real games. There are numerous multicarts out there with animated menues and music, but only this one made the menu background a cinematic movie of sorts. Every menu screen is a romantic story with a tragic end, and in my opinion, it just makes it sadder when you have Unchained Melody playing in the background, which is in itself a pretty sad song, if you think about it.

NES - Unchained Melody (NTDEC) Recreation

Well look, just your average Undertale cover, but it's in 8-bit. This one is the Ruins theme.
For this one, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to work with limited sound hardware that's more limited than the RP2A03 on the NES, and for that I chose the SN76489. The Texas Instruments SN76489 was a very popular chip used in many different consoles and computers, including the Sega Master System/Mark III, Sega MegaDrive/Genesis together with the YM2612, the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A, the ColecoVision, and many others. So, what exactly am I dealing with here? Unlike the NES which had five sound channels, the SN76489 just gave you the basics; three square wave generators and one white noise generator. You may ask yourself, well what's so limiting about that? Unlike the 2A03, the lowest note that the SMS could generate is A2, where as the lowest the NES could generate was A1. This made it difficult to generate the low bass notes of the song, which meant for some notes, I had to change the octave up one.

Undertale - Ruins (Sega Master System)

I love Mega Man, it was one of my favorite series growing up as a kid, and it's still my favorite series to this day.
So, as many of you know, Capcom hosted a Mega Man 30th anniversary livestream on Monday, and one of the things announced was a new game into the series, Mega Man 11, coming to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2018. I was so excited, that, just for fun, I decided to cover one of my favorite songs from the series, We're the Robots, from Mega Man 9.
Expect some Mega Man covers to show up here, since I'm starting to get bored with making Undertale covers for now. Hopefully when Mega Man 11 comes out, I'll do a cover of one of the songs in the game!

Mega Man 9 - We're The Robots

Well, here's another cover for you all, this time of probably the best song in the classic series This is a cover of Omoide wa Okkusenman! (or 思い出はおっくせんまん！, which translates to "110 million memories!" or "Countless memories!"), better known to many as the Dr. Wily Stage 1 theme from Mega Man 2, probably one of the most overrated songs in video game history, no doubt due to its upbeat tempo and catchy melody.
As a kid, this song was one of my favorites in the game when I played it, and it still is. I wouldn't say that this is my FAVORITE Mega Man song, because really, all the songs are great, though if I had to pick ONE, it would have to be Nitro Rider from Mega Man 10. Who knows, maybe I might cover that one soon. Either that, or one of the songs from the X series, because those have good tunes as well.

I love this song, and I love this game!
This is a cover of Okay, Everyone! from Doki Doki Literature Club! done in ImpulseTracker format with the program Open ModPlug Tracker (https://openmpt.org/). I made this to sound as authentic to the limitations and specifications of the Ricoh RP2A03, the main CPU and sound card found on the Nintendo Entertainment System, with five voices (two pulse waves, one triangle wave, one white noise generator and one DPCM channel for playing low quality samples. Because I had to use five voices, I had to make some sacrifices, especially with the strings section. Sure I could just use some DPCM samples of some strings, but I couldn't find some that matched the original recording. These ImpulseTracker files can be automatically converted to run on real NES hardware, using the tool IT2NSF. The only hiccup comes from the various tempos used by the music. If th etempo doesn't match up right, certain modulated effects could sound incorrect.
