Ahead of the 26th annual Life Ball hosted in Vienna's City Hall this coming June, the year's star-studded lineup of ambassadors is out. With the release of the diverse new campaign photographed by a trio that includes Markus Morianz, Denis Malerbi and Marco Ovando, there’s a new cast of high-profile advocates for one of the world’s biggest AIDS fundraisers. This year’s festivities has a new look and a new motto: “United in Diversity. Walking on the yellow brick road towards an end to AIDS.” In the 2019 Style Bible, the eclectic gang features every color in the rainbow and features some of entertainment’s most prolific members of the LGBTQ community and their allies. The cast of trailblazers includes Cynthia Nixon, Dita von Teese, Beth Ditto, Alan Cumming, Amanda Lepore, Carmen Carrera, Kelly Osbourne,  and Billy Porter.

Coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots that spearheaded a historic movement towards equal rights, this year’s Life Ball packs extra significance. While massive strides have been made since, there's still tremendous work to be done worldwide. Life Ball  CEO and dedicated community advocate, Gery Keszler, says “Life Ball is only one night but there are so many other events that we do and through the entirety, we shouldn't forget.” While the lavish event attracts tens of thousands of people and is supported by the 2,000 plus volunteers that sustain it, the show and party are symbolic of a much bigger call to action. “Being a part of this campaign is very important for working against discrimination," Keszler says. Having transitioned from his career in fashion decades ago to pursue his passion project, Keszler has seen this initiative grow exponentially. "When I started I had six square meters and a fax and a telephone so it's grown to one of the biggest events in the world but this atmosphere and the feeling I get through all the reactions around the event I try to keep this really in my heart," he says.

As one of this year’s celebrity ambassadors, Grammy and Tony Award-winning actor, Billy Porter, is reflecting on the massive significance of visibility. “ I came out in 1985 and we went straight to the frontlines to fight for our lives,” Porter says. The queer actor has long been a vocal advocate for LGBTQ rights and was even nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Pray Tell in the groundbreaking FX series, Pose. “Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it so some need to remember and those of us who were there need to remind people about it,” Porter says.

For RuPaul’s Drag Race alumn and All-Stars 2 winner, Alaska, the opportunity to be an ambassador for the event is an honor. “I think that Life Ball is great because we're celebrating life and also raising awareness. That's all we need to keep doing," Alaska says. Taking place on June 8th in Vienna’s famous city hall, the colossal event will overlap with Europride, also hosted in Austria’s beautiful capital city. With over 2,000 volunteers stepping up to make the Life Ball run smoothly each year, the event is a labor of love and a shining symbol of progress in a world that continues to be plagued by HIV/AIDS. Born in Passaic, New Jersey with New York City in his sightline, Sin took advantage of his proximity by sneaking, at the age of 13, into Manhattan and hanging out at clubs like The Building, Mars, Red Zone, Disco 2000 and the original Sound Factory on West 27th Street.  A self-made man, Sin is the driving force behind his own success.  He is a song writer, producer, re-mixer and an international DJ that has spun in well known venues is major cities such as: New York City, Miami, Chicago, Montreal, Beijing, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Shanghai, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Rome, and Vienna.  He entered the studio, writing, producing and arranging records under several labels including Sony, Universal, Warner, Virgin Records and BMG Entertainment.  He signed his world-wide music publishing deal with one of the most powerful music companies in the world. Warner/Chappell Music, where he was working directly with Patrick Conseil (VP of the International and Creative division), Rick Shoemaker (then the Senior Vice President, Creative) and Les Bider (Chairman and CEO Warner/Chappell to develop his talents and increase his catalogue.

 S. Morera was co-writer on projects such as “Kiss All The Bullies Goodbye, featuring Taylor Dayne,” that was produced by world renown DJ/Producer Paul Oakenfold, and the record “Watching You” for budding artist Christina that achieved Gold Record status in Europe.  Of his many accomplishments Sin is proudest of his connection to the Lifeball.  Being pulled in personally by Gery Keszler, CEO and Founder of the Lifeball Organization, which creates one of the largest AIDS charity events in the world, the Ball’s goal is to raise donations for important AIDs projects, bring awareness and fight against the taboo status of HIV/AIDS in our society.  It is a cause that is very close to his heart.  Each year, the LifeBall attracts tens of thousands of visitors as well as 500 National and International media representatives to Vienne’s City Hall Square, where everybody can experience the 2-hour show live and for free.  Not allowing this serious background to be forgotten, thought-provoking moments during the Opening Ceremony at the City Hall Square and moving speeches by international AIDS activists make for the necessary awareness raising.  President Bill Clinton, Sir Elton John, Sharon Stone, Milla Jovovich, Whoopi Goldberg, Brooke Shields, Linda Evangelista, Eva Longoria, Catherine Deneuve, Janet Jackson, Liza Minelli, Ricky Martin, Katy Perry, Natalia Kills, Adam Lambert, Anastacia, Kylie Minoque and Conchita Wurst are but a small portion of notable personalities that were in attendance.
