Xenia Reaper released a brilliant and highly recommended EP on their own label XENOPLEX, and contributed to a Various Compilation on INDEX:Records and will be on the new Various Compilation of Emotional Waves. 

They tries to earmark his own interpretation of breaky and deep glitchy feelings. This show contains that wide spectrum of smudged-out and head channeling electronics that keep coming back in his own productions.

I'm very pleased that they participated and will be the one to guide us through his musical fascinations

The mixtape Learning Palestine _ Until Liberation is a 12 hours sound program created from content downloaded from Youtube “interweaving songs, poems, music, chants, talks, discussions, presentations, and conversations by many, many singers, intellectuals, academics, researchers, musicians, students, and fighters to teach, tell, inform, and to understand the history, the present, and reality of the ongoing struggle for justice and liberation for Palestine”.

No stranger to the label having assumed mastering duties across several releases, Behrang Mohammadi touches down for his official Warning debut. It’s a deadly one-two punch as the Inkonst resident conjures DIY spirits on a typically idiosyncratic lathe cut 12", complete with a remix from OG Salon Des Amateurs resident Philipp Otterbach.

Original cut ‘Tears Only Fall From The Right Eye’ recalls Dutch darkwave innovator Das Ding at his strangest. Eerie retro-futurism awash in a sea of spatially-aware dub FX, Mohammadi summons his more explorative side with some hauntingly sparse, smudged. electro.

But where the original deployed dub sirens and swathes of reverb to mesmeric effect, Otterbach leans fully into his dubbiest inclinations. It’s the axis point where break-neck IDM pointillism, industrial heft and pure dread bassweight collide. Bone-rattling stuff.

Trogon' is taken from 'Aviario', a collaborative EP by Ecuadorian electronic music producers Entrañas and Ene Ese, coming out on Scorpio Red on the 23rd February. 

The release coalesces the unique sonic palette, textures and rhythms of Ecuadorian music with the darkness of Club and Bass music. Taking influence from bird species inhabiting the diverse ecosystems of Ecuador, Entrañas and Ene Ese seamlessly transmute delicately layered soundscapes and birdsong into cutting drum patterns, creating invigorating compositions that spotlight the rich musical heritage of Ecuador and its natural environment.
'Aviario' ranges sonically from moments of ambient textural exploration in 'Trogón', to dance floor ready tracks such as the single Huiracchuro where overdriven melodies weave between sultry drums making heavy use of 6/8 polyrhythms found in Ecuadorian genres such as Albazo and Bomba. The third track Curiquingüe features additional composition from producer Zunfo.

The EP is accompanied by six corresponding artworks by Destello, who reimagines the colours and forms of the birds into candescent abstractions.

The third offering in our mix series is a live recording of Priori and Cousin's dj set at Sustain Release 2024. Recorded on the last morning between 6am and 1pm on what was meant to be an ambient stage, it featured everything a 3 day festival closing set should. Eclectic picks, strange and emotional sounds, dubious transitions and a few feigned endings. Massive thanks to all the dancers, the Sustain staff (Aurora, Ash and everybody else who put their blood, sweat and tears into this), the music makers, the birds, the stars.

It’s that time of the year again! We will head off to the the other side of the world on the 3rd and 4th of March for the second edition of Dekmantel Festival São Paulo. As a warm-up, we continue our mini podcast series and after Cashu's kick off, it's rising talent Barbara Boeing's turn.

Part of the Alter Disco collective, Boeing flies sky high with her disco-pop-odd ball, easy riding sets. Think edits, think five-decades of music to pull from, think good time vibes, and you’ll understand why taking a journey with Barbara Boeing comes so highly recommended.

Her podcast for us showcases this talent over the course of roughly 50 minutes. Boeing has the Balearics in her blood, and she doesn't disappoint for sure.
