La Piragua es un standard de la cumbia latinoamericana, un pedazo de historia de la música tropical y se ha mantenido como una joya del folclore y la fiesta a nivel mundial. Es así como viaja hasta las tierras bajas de Holanda, donde se reconstruye con aires de dub y música de raíz en las manos de la banda Umoja.

Regional trae de vuelta esta pieza de arte a su región de origen, pasando en su camino por Francia donde Rafael Aragon la transforma en un swing house. Bigote en España rescata la cumbia dub digital, Tribilin Sound de Perú la lleva al sonido stepper, Ale Cassis le agrega beats futuristas desde Bolivia y La Reco Ganjah experimenta con un dembow espacial en Chile.

Todas conservando el sabor original de La Piragua de siempre, pero llevandola al siguiente nivel.

La Piragua is a latinamerican cumbia standard, a piece of history in tropical music and it has been delivered as a gem of the folklore and party worldwide. This way it travels all the way to the low land of Holland, where it gets reconstructed with touches of dub and roots music in the hands of the band Umoja.

Regional brings back this work of art to its origins, stopping on the way in France where Rafael Aragon transforms it to a swing house, Bigote in Spain recovers the cumbia in dub, Tribilin Sound from Peru takes it to the stepper sound, Ale Cassis adds some future beats from Bolivia and La Reco Ganjah experiments with spacial dembow in Chile.   

All of them conserve the original La Piragua flavour of always, but taking it to the next level.

The label intelligentsia at Harmonious Discord have grown quite fond of the sounds of Brad Dale (AKA Molecule, Echo Conscious, and producer for Ishi). His projects have been an integral part of the Harmonious Discord sound with dance-floor works that can be both ambient and organic while keeping an element of sonic futurism and an ever-sharp techno edge. Thus the label is more than pleased to offer Brad, under his Molecule guise, for the 30th release, and a tune by the name of "Day Dreaming."

"Day Dreaming" is a subtle story of the lingering memories ever present when love clashes with absence. Molecule has captured both the tension and resolve equated with the desire to be close with the use of dulcet tones and floating synthetic elements. Energy is propelled forward with the use of rhythmic breathing and then put to rest with a pad structure that dials in the perfect amount of variation. It also pulses and pumps for the after-hours nightclub set, making it an exotic addition to the DJ's arsenal.

Four remixes offer some extra-cool interpretations of "Day Dreaming." Lending his talents to the first revision, house music legend Brett Johnson delivers a main room banger that twists through elevated synth work, electro-inspired bass variations, and big washes of melody. Brett&rsquo;s remix will rock the late night disco with a work that the label considers groundbreaking from this staple talent. Adding to the fire is deep techno pioneer Arthur Oskan, who was recently nominated for 'Album of the Year' by The Canadian Juno Awards for his A Little More Than Everything album. Arthur takes a slow burn approach to his re-work with an in-depth dive into an eerie late night space. His piece creeps with deliverance into dark territories, sprinkling vocal snippets with building anticipation. The resolve comes when an arpeggiated synth fills the soundscape and spirals the listener into the cosmic. Next up, in the spirit of the Harmonious Discord's vinyl roots, a DJ Tool has been added for fun interplay of the vocal elements to compliment any selection. Lastly, "All Things Move in Cycles" is a bonus cut from Molecule, featuring a rotating cadence of intriguing tones and textures. His approach was methodical, even encompassing some circular 'Steve Reich-esque' melodies. The track nicely closes out another ambitious statement from Harmonious Discord.

The Scumfrog on his new song Tiny Little Human: “"Sure, my quarantine is very comfortable and spacious, but it does evoke thoughts and emotions that I see resonate around me. It addresses how much I have taken for granted the value of basic touch in my daily life. I sense that many people around me are struggling with the sudden absence of human touch. I hope we can remember this frustration when it is once again ok to mingle, and to appreciate the value of a basic hug. We, as humans, made it to the top of the food chain. We essentially 'won earth', but what is that worth if we cannot touch each other?"

The remixes on this stellar package come from Australian production outfit @theoddness (delivering two funky downtempo mixes), U.S. producer @pezzner with a stripped-down haunting mix, and the emerging art collective Voodoo Porn Space Disco delivering a chugging feel-good House anthem.

The video of the song is currently in post-production, and consist of a fan-sourced collection of ‘Legotography’, where the assignment was to photograph a single Lego minifigure in a real-world setting depicting isolation and quarantine. The video is edited together by legendary film and video editor Bob Jenkis (Michael Jackson, Madonna, Chris Isaak)
