About the EP-*
Mahakali (Sanskrit: Mahākālī, Devanagari: महाकाली), is the much revered Hindu mother goddess of time, death and doomsday. 
She is the divine Goddess of the Universe in her most fearful and powerful form. She is also the consort of Mahakala, the god of consciousness, the basis of reality and existence. Mahakali in Sanskrit is etymologically the feminized variant of Mahakala or Great Time (which is interpreted also as Death), an epithet of the god Shiva in Hinduism. Kali and all her forms are the different manifestations of Mahakali.   
Mahakali's origin is contained in various Puranic and Tantric Hindu Scriptures (Shastra). In these She is variously portrayed as the Adi-Shakti-Goddess Durga, the Primeval Force of the Universe, identical with the Ultimate Reality or Brahman. She is also known as the (female) Prakriti or World as opposed to the (male) Purusha or Consciousness, or as one of three manifestations of Mahadevi Durga (The Great Goddess) that represent the three Gunas or attributes in Samkhya philosophy. In this interpretation Mahakali represents Tamas or the force of inertia. 
She is described as an abstract energy, the yoganidra of Vishnu. Brahma invokes Her and She emerges from Vishnu and He awakenes. 
She is the Goddess of time.

During the first lockdown in Tel Aviv, Guy Shaked – also known as Takiru – decided to take his music to other musical dimensions and explore his production abilities in different genres and tempos. The result is “Voices of July”, a colourful EP, featuring three originals and three remixes, in which every tune has its special story and mood. 

Takiru is well known for his previous releases that received support from acclaimed artists such as Moscoman, Jenia Tarsol, Chaim, and many more, and now he is proud to present his debut release on the respected Lisbon-based label Karakter. The remixes were made with love by Rina & Benji, A-Tweed (SXDNS222/FREEDL029) and Tempura The Purple Boy. 

Premiered here, A-Tweed’s version of the most romantic track of the release. In his interpretation of “Je Taime”, the Italian producer brought the love theme to his world, soaking the original into his characteristic weirdness: Distinctive percussive elements and a throbbing bassline yield the danceability, while the ethereal vocals deliver an eerie and erotic atmosphere.

This particular pick 'Last Call' doesnt fail to take you away.
A symphony of percussion tribal dances alongside a orient mystical and slightly menacing synthline punctuated by snaps and claps which work in a club as much as much for home listening. Laid back but beware this track has a lot of a bite to it, taking you on a wild journey through sonic explorations stoking the imagination as it does so.

Acclaimed Franco-German DJ and producer from Berlin, Franz Matthews brings his magic touch on the original and takes us on a psychedelic ride, remixing the track with his sleek, dancefloor focussed sonics. From warming drum machines that dish out the metric groove to the layers of original guitars and vocal that Franz has paired with immaculate synths and creative sound design. A beautiful dancefloor moment in the making that will find home in clubs and festivals alike.

British electronica duo Left of Manila, Ed Bentley and Mish Pharaon, craft an idiosyncratic world mixing hypnotic rhythms with lush, synthesized landscapes and mantric vocals that combine for a left-of-centre sonic that borders the dance and listening spectrums with ease.

The pair have been releasing their infectious, often experimental sonics since 2011, and now ready up the release of their debut album ‘Seven Sisters’. Kicking things off with the lead single ‘Africa On My Mind’, featuring upcoming Ghanaian Londoner Jeff Darko on lead vocals. Bringing an immersive, hypnotic dose of indie-rock meets Afro-house that traverses between the acoustic and electronic with an infectious hook and intricate instrumental performances.

For its fourth release, the Swedish label Trampoliner is welcoming Tony y Not (SXDNS183). The Berlin/NYC-based artist, whose rousing blends of sounds are as razor-sharp as she is, is a DJ, producer, and cosmic event planner. From venues and parties like Watergate and Cityfox to experiences like Burning Man, Tony y Not uses music as a tool to communicate what words simply cannot, empowering crowds to smile, look forward, and not take themselves too seriously. For her new release, she brought together a strong line-up of remixers: Everyone's favourite Italian duo Armonica, heavyweight Swiss duo Animal Trainer, and Australian sensation Made In Paris.

Despite the insightful remixes, we opted to premiere the beautiful original. In our humble opinion, “Last Night” is a flawless masterpiece. It managed to enchant us from its very beginning. When the mighty bassline makes its entrance, you realize it is time to deliver yourself to the melody and give up being ashamed for dancing alone in your living room. The vibrant acid and the trippy synth layers complete the combo of elements wisely concocted by Tony.

This cosmic slow disco edit is dedicated to the genius of Fabrizio De André and Mauro Pagani, who arranged the whole "Crêuza de mä (1984), probably the most inspired and remarkable studio album focusing on Italian and Mediterranean folklore (David Byrne, talking to Rolling Stone, named the LP as one of the most important releases of the decade).

"Jamina", an Arabic female name, is a fictional prostitute desired by every sailor in the port of Genoa. The song is deeply influenced in the arrangement by the traditional Algerian raï music.

De André described Jamina as "a refuge, a safe harbour which sailors travelling all over the world for months and months on end look forward to coming back to, even if they know she could potentially destroy them".
