Bologna’s Random Numbers unveils the ‘You Are Dreaming! (Remixes) of La Serpiente this June, featuring Elena Colombi, BXP, Big Hands, Front de Cadeaux and Wang Inc. on remix duties.

The Italian Random Numbers imprint has become synonymous with boundary breaking, left of centre sounds since 2014, launched by BXP and White Raven who regularly feature on the label, it also showcases a wide variety of experimental Italian artists and others beyond across the globe. Often embracing the resurgence of the cassette format as well as vinyl and digital. Here the label shines a light on Amsterdam via Milano artist La Serpiente aka Marco Segato who makes a welcome return to the label and has also featured his mystical, post-industrial leaning works on the likes of brokntoys, XCPT, Dionysian Mysteries and Sons Of Traders among others.

Opening this remix package of ‘You Are Dreaming!’ is the acid-laced, slowly unfurling psychedelic original, followed by Front De Cadeaux’ percussive focused rework.

Label co-founder BXP then opens the B-Side, turning in a mind-altering interpretation fuelled by modulating synth whirrs, shuffled drums and bumpy bass hits. 

The ‘Big Hands Remix’ then ups the tempo, embracing a more off-kilter Techno feel employing the originals hypnotic chimes with skippy drums and fluttering resonant licks before Elena Colombi induces a dreamy, trance like state via fluttering bells, haunting voices and elongated bass drones. 

Lastly as a digital bonus, Wang Inc. turns in the final remix, a fourteen minute tribal-tinged journey through organic rhythms, oscillating synth lines and fragments of the original composition.

The Italian producer Go Dugong and the Venezuelan musician Washé met in Caracas in December 2022. Their meeting was a stroke of fate, bringing together two souls driven by a thirst for the unknown, a desire for the ethereal, and an awareness of the transcendental.
Both artists were creating music inspired by ancient rituals and shamanic chants, but they had never met.
HAPE Collective brought them together, leading to a collaboration in a Caracas studio and a transformative journey into the Amazon Forest, where they challenged each other’s perceptions of nature.

Thus, "MADRE" was born – a tribute to the splendor of nature, conveyed through the universal language of music. The album explores three phases of awakening: dissonance, challenge, and symbiosis, symbolizing the arduous path to achieving unity with nature.

Each phase is marked by contrasts and unique characteristics, inviting us on a journey into the unknown.
