High energy

A personal rework of one of my favorite classics ever, New Order's Blue Monday. 
I had mixed feelings the first time I heard it in some club. These dribbling bass drums were kind of weird to me. I couldn't really understand why people were mad when they recognized the track. Then, when I left, I realized the only melodies that were still around in my head were those of this pure classic. I started to listen to it and couldn't help but put it on hard rotation at home and in my studio. I became obsessed with it and even wanted to own the same hardware that was used to produce it (a few days later, I bought an Oberheim DX from some guy who claimed he signed with Virgin Records on the same day as Daft Punk). 
The original multitracks sessions are publicly available so I had to do something...so here we are. I wanted to give the track a more modern & Italo direction, while trying to respect the original vibe. 
Hope you'll enjoy it & spin it in front of passionate crowds. 
The artwork is a tribute to John Carpenter's Christine (1983), which was released a few months later.

For our next release we have two supercharged tracks by the Italian duo Dog.ma and also two equally charged remixes by Louis de Tomaso and Brandski.

What do you get when you have four supercharged tracks within an electromagnetic field? You get electromagnetism. Or in this case, you get 'Elettromagnetismo' since our tracks are fully charged with italo disco, every single one of them!

As in true 80s fashion, both Elettromagnetismo and Darpah are charged with driving basslines, catchy one-finger melodies and vocal sounding synthesisers. Darpah tends to feel a little more melodic with its beautiful chord progression while Elettromagnetismo is very energetic and straight forward.

Louis de Tomaso's remix gives Elettromagnetismo even more of an electric feel. True to the original but with his own style, it's safe to say that Louis's remix is supercharged.

If the original tracks were made in true 80s fashion, then Brandski's remix is not just made in true 80s fashion, it's the definition of it. With a classic rolling italo bassline, Brandski's remix gives Darpah even more of an authentic 80's feeling than the original.

I thought it was a nice touch to pay homage to those times, and there's another tip of the hat to Belfast party starters Ponyhawke who have carried the mantle for diverse and inclusive dancefloors in Belfast here in 2023.  The lead track is a collaboration with a Ukrainian artist, Ready in LED and it had Polari written all over it. Olya is a superstar and I’m very excited to be working with her.”

Ready in LED who has recently released on Polari herself, has made a stellar contribution to Jordan‘s forthcoming EP, she lends her extraordinary vocal prowess to the opening track, "Over & Over," infusing it with captivating strength. A long term affair with the label finally leads to Vasconcellos’ debut on Inner Shah Recordings. The Brazilian artist unveils Italo Metálico EP, as a sweaty homage to the Italian Disco classics with a modern twist.

“Italo Metálico” features classical 80s elements, mixed with a robotized vocal, and a pinch of distortion and analog warmth. “Acid Dream” sets the tempo higher, with an energetic approach aimed at the dancefloors. This iconic B-side is driven by an infectious bassline and dreamy synths, that complement the opening track with more energy.

Although the originals were already secret club weapons, the EP becomes even more special with participations of Bizzarro Universe and Mike Sacchetti on remix duties. The Hamburg duo Bizzarro Universe brings in their infusion of Italo Trance with Eurodance, in a fun and chaotic approach, whereas Mike Sacchetti brings in a nostalgic club-driven touch.
