The fifteenth reference of the @dogsandvulturesrecords digital series is headed by the Mexican @javiermartinezmx , an artist who has previous releases on labels such as Nein Records or Rotten City and who had already appeared in the catalog of the Spanish label with his contribution to the series of edit DVR audio documents. 

The EP is starring a single entitled Alter Ego, accompanied by remixes by the Italian duo Modular Project, @justine-is-justine (half of Permanent Wave with Tronik Youth) and the Mexican talent Alvee. 

On sale on November 4 exclusively on Beatport and Bandcamp for two weeks, then they appear digitally on the rest of the platforms.

Javier Martinez - Alter Ego (Justine Remix)[Dogs & Vultures]

For those still not familiar with Random Atlas (SXDNS155/FREEDL024), they are an Electronic-Rock duo from Santiago de Chile based in Berlin. Formed by Max Ferrer (SXDNS213) and Manuel Ortúzar, the project was born from their common love for badass guitars, strange synth sounds and tight beats. Random Atlas’ sound can be defined as a blend of Rock, Techno, Post-Punk and Disco with an attitude focused on creating a powerful dark sound characterized by synth driving haunted house atmospheres and screaming guitars underpinned by hypnotic grooves. After debuting on the acclaimed French label Esthétique, the duo lands on the respected German imprint HEARec with their “Sample & Hold EP” featuring gorgeous remixes by Aurum Miles and Disco Mortale.

We were given one of the originals to review and, oh boy, what a tune! “Croupier” is more than just a track, it is a statement that shouts out loud the Random Atlas boys are here to stay. The high quality of the theme depicts how skilful Max & Manuel are: The bleepy bass line, the sophisticated (and at the same time menacing) synth layer, the ethereal FXs, the aggressive guitar solo... everything fits perfectly in a way that only great artists are able to do it. Kudos, lads!

As you made your way further and further out of the city the towering concrete buildings disappeared, soon to be replaced by desolate, dusty landscapes. Barren and unkept, this dark terrain housed no living specimens — there was no way of surviving in these dry and drab conditions. Though uninhabitable by humanity, with time these spaces became spectacles; marbled and eroded by mother nature.

Following the success of the first two instalments, Amsterdam-based collective, label and platform Sinchi make their return for round 3 of their Altered States compilation. Another far reaching and sonically diverse release, it features music from artists across four continents, including the Argentinian pairing of Altair & Sagan, Syrian duo Boschoco, US artist Mr. Tea and our pick from Lithuanian and returning Sinchi producer Dannie Fade, who tees up a dark, broody cut laced with a hypnotic vocal and crisp percussion.

All profits with go into their own Sinchi Foundation and the work they do in supporting indigenous communities worldwide.

John Parsley makes his first appearance on Playground Records to mark an Ep that kicks the board and leaves a musical riot of unusual dimensions. 3 originals and 2 remixes from Bird Of Paradise and Local Suicide & Time To Sleep giving a roam without letup.
Bird of Paradise is the first guest to make a remix and gives us a different version of ‘Coin Crash’, although equally club bomb, he offers us a completely different soundscape. Supported by the bass of the original they take us on a journey of crossed chord keyboards but totally harmonic in their dissonances. A ping pong of a constant acid modulation that opens and closes towards the sides makes us move our heads without respite. Tasty sweet and sour.

Reference number 43 of the Mexican Label @Phisica is in charge of @ulises-arrieta, a young producer from Oaxaca, Mexico.

Confuvision is the track that gives the EP its name, a track that combines a very marked kick and bass, hypnotic sounds and very characteristic guitar leads in the productions of the young producer, as well as a very peculiar vocal that gives the final touch to this exceptional track. 

This EP is made up of an original track and two fabulous remixes by Undefined Pattern and Alvee, both also Mexican producers. available on all digital platforms from December 26
