Los Angeles-based ASHRR return with a 100bpm Italo-inspired chugger ‘What’s Been Turning You’ on feat. System Olympia Remixes for their third release on Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision. The record follows single, Fizzy, with a cut taken from their forthcoming album ‘Sunshine Low’ re-interpreted by the band under the guise of their ASHRR Soundsystem alter ego. Driving darker dubs of the main versions, taking the tracks onto club and big room sound systems with arpeggiated synth sequences, tripped out top line melodies, and powerful chunky drums.
 
System Olympia has been forging her unique New Erotica audio-visual experience since 2018 making a name for herself from London to Napoli, Berlin and back. "Water In The Moon" marks the highly anticipated album release by Dsum. Following his last album in 2022, Dsum unveils a 12-track opus meticulously crafted to explore the boundaries of electro sounds, oscillating between experimental ambient and Detroit electro. It represents perhaps his most musically rich endeavor to date.

To be released under his own label, Back Door, his fourth album is the culmination of years of introspective musical exploration, tracing its origins back to the lockdown period of 2020. A tribute to the genesis of electronic music, "Water In The Moon" pays homage to Dsum's electronic roots while pushing the boundaries of sonic innovation.

Drenched in analog warmth, the album boasts lush pads, expansive synths, and gritty 808 electro beats, crafting a mesmerizing mosaic of soundscapes that transport you to outer space. Every track showcases Dsum's production and electronic music expertise, with brief variations and instrumental snippets adding to a unified journey of auditory exploration.

Presented in two EP releases, The "Gravity Loss EP" and "Double Distance EP" serve as the album's twin pillars, each offering a unique sonic experience that brings "Water In The Moon" to life. After featuring on our recent twentieth-anniversary compilation, we are delighted to welcome back Mexican DJ, audio sculptor and Controlla label head-honcho Pvlomo to Darkroom Dubs, who guides us through a rich, sonic escapade deep into his metaphysical realm of frequency vibration.

A commanding kick drum and a luscious, pulsating bass tone lay the foundations for Infraworld - a voyage through a multiverse of celestial soundscapes. A relentless vortex of hypnotising synths surge and recede, propelling you through a prismatic wormhole rich with electronic sounds and textures, leaving you captivated and spellbound.

Fellow Mexican and rising electronic music star Jorge Melgar, aka Badwolf, is on remix duties for Ritmo Son, with an atmospheric reinterpretation of the original. A deep pounding kick and dense resonances keep you focused through a murky landscape, eventually unveiling a clearing awash with shimmering, reverberant voices. Then, intoxicating voices evoke the sensation that you are effortlessly floating on a bottomless silvery lake before they suddenly dissipate and plunge you back into the depths of the darkness.

The same hypnotic and disorienting voices orbit around your head in the original mix of Ritmo Son, engulfing you in auditory disarray. This time, glitchy, crunchy, slightly off-kilter percussion provides the only sound to anchor yourself amidst the whirlwind of whispers. A precise and forceful bass and a gritty, gravelly acid line give the track a raw, unbridled power, perfect for late-night action on a smoky dancefloor bathed only in strobe lights.

Deep, acidic and psychedelic, yet with a techno edginess - this release will only enhance Pvlomo's growing reputation within electronic music.

The original "Making It Right" sets the theme with dark, chuggy Disco vibes, Woolfy’s vocals echo the haunting tones of Peter Murphy and Ian Curtis with lyrics that hold the complexities of love and romanticism, drawing parallels between its cyclical nature and the constant rotation of the world. Resilience and determination shine through as the song explores the journey of overcoming obstacles to find love's ultimate fulfilment. Ilya Santana steps up to the plate and takes things back a few years with his Italo sleaze inspired '84 mix. True to its name this rework brings the sequenced energy straight down the middle. Closing the record Boys' Shorts inject a more beat focussed sound, tighter and more dancefloor oriented whilst keeping the nostalgic essence of the original in their mix and dub.
This record highlights Woolfy's lyrical depth and Love Athletics’ driving production whilst exemplifying Ritual Release’s commitment to delivering music that pushes the genre onwards, a timeless piece that resonates with fans of classic and modern sounds alike.

Soiree Records continue turning heads with their latest various artist offering, "Everland". Hitting shops from June 17, 2024 - this record feels like a cross-section of what the label has been offering the ever shifting sands of the Deep House scene in recent years. Brought to life by the deft artistry of Drivetrain, Blaktony, Funtom, and Hughes Giboulay.

"Everland" is a collection of timeless Deep House music, written through the unique lenses of the four artists, each track a chapter in a larger story of musical exploration and emotive depth. "Hyperlock" by Drivetrain opens the EP and sets the foundation with its solid low-freq assault and seismic energy levels, an exploration of depth and dynamism. Following this, Blaktony's "Butt Naked" establishes its own style with its unique but catchy bassline, weaving a narrative that is both danceable and resonant in a more laid back manner.

Vertigini is the alias of a prodigious talent. To date, Arthur Mukharlyamov’s infectious hooks have only been available digitally. Bordello A Parigi are more than excited to give this analogue alchemist his full vinyl debut. Four tracks make up the aptly named Thunder. The title piece rumbles from speaker cones, thick banks of bass and crisp rhythms crack before smooth strings give way to flashes of melodic radiance. Inspiration lies in the heavens with this EP, he’s leaving the bonds of earth for “Galaxy Funk”. Textured percussion is cut with acid grooves while generous breaks fuel this expedition. A fierce arpeggiator immediately ignites the flip, lancing beats pierce this burbling bulwark as honeyed notes melt in the muscled sweetness of “Final Space”. The journey back to Earth is imminent, but not without one final fun-filled flurry. Rich drum patterns are the foundation for the sticky groove of “Space Trip”. Vocals echo skyward while Vertigini weaves a dancefloor delight to ease re-entry to reality.

@ShurIKan association with @FreerangeRecords dates right back to 2000 when he remixed Audiomontage’s Flyin’ High. Since then, Tom Szirtes has been a regular on the label, releasing two LP’s and ten EP’s which have all showcased his passion for the more ‘musical’ side of house music, stemming from his love of jazz and fusion legend Pat Metheny and his own skills as an accomplished keyboard player.

On his latest outing entitled 'State Of Emergency', Shur-I-Kan throws a curveball, going heads-down acid on the title track and providing one of his biggest dance-floor cuts to date in the process. That said, the warm production, subtle textures and deeper elements are never that far away as vocal hits drift in and out of the mix and filtering pads remind us that it’s still resolutely a Shur-I-Kan record.

Next up there is 'Out At Night', a track whose simple uplifting chord stabs bring a touch of tropical warmth. Whilst rounding off the EP there is 'Three Of A Kind', a fat-snared, big-bottomed belter with echoing melodic line.
