The Future Is Among Us

Melodies linger like ghosts, speaking the language of the lost, Berlin’s newborn baby Ghosting Corporation hails from unhealthy breakups and unanswered text messages, with tunes made for places where loud sound systems and lonely spirits meet. The night is there to evade those negative feelings of emptiness and exchange them for a brief moment of body movement.

GC first reference, titled “Enter the Wild” is stuffed with elements brought together to create a mix of percussion, groove and excitement, an after midnight fiesta combining Anastasia Zems’s massive vocal talent with what label’s creator, Mike Sacchetti had envisioned probably influenced by a tribal dance he saw in a movie and a long bike ride home. Both stepped out a bit from their living room couch to deliver something fresh to the sound of Indie Dance. 

And as if it wasn’t confusing enough to your expectations, two special guests came to spend the evening at the remix department: the France-based Moroccan rooted artist Zaatar widens the sound spectrum while spitting out cosmic dust with a slow builder re-interpretation piece of “The World’s a Dream”, ultimately to hand it over to Berlin’s established producer Radial Gaze to properly fuel the rocket with an acid energised version just tailored for the peak time enthusiasts.

After featuring on our recent twentieth-anniversary compilation, we are delighted to welcome back Mexican DJ, audio sculptor and Controlla label head-honcho Pvlomo to Darkroom Dubs, who guides us through a rich, sonic escapade deep into his metaphysical realm of frequency vibration.

A commanding kick drum and a luscious, pulsating bass tone lay the foundations for Infraworld - a voyage through a multiverse of celestial soundscapes. A relentless vortex of hypnotising synths surge and recede, propelling you through a prismatic wormhole rich with electronic sounds and textures, leaving you captivated and spellbound.

Fellow Mexican and rising electronic music star Jorge Melgar, aka Badwolf, is on remix duties for Ritmo Son, with an atmospheric reinterpretation of the original. A deep pounding kick and dense resonances keep you focused through a murky landscape, eventually unveiling a clearing awash with shimmering, reverberant voices. Then, intoxicating voices evoke the sensation that you are effortlessly floating on a bottomless silvery lake before they suddenly dissipate and plunge you back into the depths of the darkness.

The same hypnotic and disorienting voices orbit around your head in the original mix of Ritmo Son, engulfing you in auditory disarray. This time, glitchy, crunchy, slightly off-kilter percussion provides the only sound to anchor yourself amidst the whirlwind of whispers. A precise and forceful bass and a gritty, gravelly acid line give the track a raw, unbridled power, perfect for late-night action on a smoky dancefloor bathed only in strobe lights.

Deep, acidic and psychedelic, yet with a techno edginess - this release will only enhance Pvlomo's growing reputation within electronic music.

The boys are back in town with a B-A-N-G!

PBR Streetgang take a trip onboard the Trans Pennine Express for a follow up to their previous Sprechen outing and as you'd expect its a full throttle aural delightful dishing out of electronic music movers & grovers. With one foot in the Italo disco and the other in the dank & murky underbelly of Berlin squat raves this is indeed one that slaps hard.

Gamma Ray is a straight up chugger with a hypnotic stack of arps that you get lost in before some wonky style ear worms synth lines pop by to mess with your endorphins before its back to bubbling basics. Simplistic, trippy & banging in equal measures.

Delivery Man ramps it right up to peak time pinging action and its all kind of late night, body jacking brilliance. Rolling arps & bass line get you mind surfing along with a laser reaching style breakdown along the way. Again totally simple in its nature but its hefty as heck and will defo do the damage.

Space Cake is almost an amalgamation of the 2 previous tracks. Chuggy & thudding but also with some seriously tripped out synth lines that engulf you & totally wrap around your psyche and yes, it also has a mega hyped breakdown. Big indeed!

We roped in some of our finest to provide remixes for this jaunt. Sprechen head honcho Chris Massey takes on Gamma Ray and sprinkles some his Thief Of Time type dust into the equation to deliver an 80's-ALFOS-Synth heavy rework. Big banging mega human Gina Breeze remixes Delivery Man and turns in a twisted, tweaky & straight up banging late night/early morning houser that stomps & whallops at gale force #50.

PREMIERE: PBR Streetgang - Gamma Ray (Massey Remix)

‘Egal’ is one of the most exceptional recordings on the Sum Over Histories catalogue - a collaborative effort by Stevie R & Parisinos and the Swiss singer-songwriter Ellivia. Sung in German, this song explores themes of detachment and yearning, reflecting the complex ebb and flow of human relationships. Psychedelic space disco, analog synthesizers, and cultivated through rare moments of inspiration in the studio.

Over the past decade the French duo of Tepat Huleux and Giac Di Falco, aka You Man, have made a name for themselves on the underground disco scene with their stunning live shows, Huleux's hypnotic visuals created and releases on labels such as as Tronik Youth’s NEIN and Eskimo Recordings. Now a decade on the pair are revisiting their acclaimed debut EP, and its lead track Birdcage, inviting some of the many friends they've made over the years to help them celebrate. 

Originally released on the now defunct Alpage Records, Birdcage's chugging 109bpm beat and a melody that switches from throbbing minimalism to something that stands tantalisingly close to a full on Ibiza sunrise moment made it the kind of track that is never far from a discerning DJs record bag and perfect for reinterpretation. https://soundcloud.com/you_man

First up to rework the track is Mexican DJ/producer and co-owner of Duro Records, Theus Mago. Upping the tempo, Mago works Birdcage's familiar, pulsating bass line, twisting it into new acidic shapes, whilst the addition of menacing rave stabs adds a dark techno vibe to the track. Nothing Is Real landed for the 28th release with “Disco Knife” by Sugar Rody. Co-founder of the mighty Dark Disko night in Tallin, he delivered a post-punk synth-wave 5 tracks EP, which includes two amazing remixes by the label friends Mufti and Gunce Aci.

‘Disco Knife’ captures the attention with the main synth, that followed by the vocal from the iconic duo Local Suicide, gently drives the composition hugging the dark and distorted guitar solo melody.

The second track ‘Jean Claude’ with his psychedelic guitar and leads, It transports the listeners in a cosmic journey. This is a truly original and mesmerizingly piece of Dark Wave music. The Mexican master Mufti did a remix treatment to this track, giving a special night driver twist with his unique new wave fingerprint.

The third track ‘On The Run’ has an Italo-disco soul, composed by rolling bassline and synth pop melodies.

Finishing off the release is the remix by the Turkish artist based in Istanbul Gunce Aci, which makes a fantastic disco-dub version of the main track ‘Disco Knife’, delivering a pure energetic bliss for every body-mover on the dancefloor.

When was the last time you went for a walk in the woods? Probably not for a long time, so allow Ransom Note dear reader, to guide you through a woodland experience that you'll never forget. First, dear reader you encounter Ransom Note, standing alone and looking aloof at an outdoor party. In fact it's a mutual friend's wedding. In Shropshire. It's one of those shoe-less outdoor weddings. You strike a up conversation with Ransom Note, "Hi," you say, "I really like your vibe, I wonder if you'd like to premiere a track for me?" Ransom Note looks out into the distance, towards the hills and the evening sky. A distant, haunted expression descends over their face and suddenly you can see years of strife in Ransom Note's eyes. "Ok," they agree, "The track is rather danceable and I'm sure everyone will like it." You feel relief, "But first," says Ransom Note ominously, "first we are going to go for a walk in the woods."
There is a border of pine forest surrounding the field of the wedding venue. Uncertain, but wanting a premiere, you decide to follow Ransom Note as they stalk on legs seemingly as old and wisened as time into the thicket. You follow a winding, dark path that gradually borrows further and further into the Shropshire landscape, in the direction of the hills. You wonder where on earth they could be taking you and you start to worry. Suddenly, you find yourself in an open clearing, where Ransom Note has decided to stop. "Now," they say, "put on these Acid Washed shorts". You put on the acid washed shorts, you suddenly notice Ransom Note is also wearing acid washed shorts. They've also brought a portable speaker. Out of the speaker comes AWITW (A Walk In The Wood's 'Evening Sky (Acid Washed Remix)', you dance for 6 minutes and 46 seconds. Then you go back to the party and act like nothing happened. The End.

Night Noise Music continues to serve up interesting and original electronic material, this time with a new EP from AWITW (A Walk In The Woods). AWITW is a French producer who effortlessly spans genres, Nu Disco to Retro Synth, Electro to Balearic. He is best known for his and Night Noise debut release ‘Evening Sky’ which was the base from which Night Noise started and still one of our favourite tracks!

The Girl from Eorzea EP is a four track release two originals complimented by two remixes. The title track ‘The Girl from Eorzea' is remixed by label friend Ulex who channels his inner Talabot to up the pace of the original.

‘White Corridors’ will be one for the Balearic heads and would be very at home on ‘International Feel’. Tunnyl head man Oli Warriner gets to grips with this remix and turns one in aimed straight at the floor.

Enchanted by a caterpillar cocoon at the garden window of his house, @AWITW has composed an collection of beautiful tracks, the purity of nature represented through music. The RARE EP represents the history of the butterfly and those precious and fragile moments that make the magic of a loving relationship.

Our pick of the release was this beauty from International People's Gang (@internationalpeoplesgang)Martyn Watson and Ric Peet putting their magic touch and some great percussion to a top EP.

PREMIERE - Starry Night - AWITW (IPG 'Bali to Berlin' Remix)

Steering clear of the dance floor with this release @NightNoiseMusic presents its 34th release and in doing so returns to its roots of seeking out unknown artists and providing a platform for artists on it's roster to showcase their talents. 

'Musa' EP is a little bit different in that we asked the artist's involved to create a piece that is inspired by the people, places and music that surround them.

New to the label we have Robert Burbidge's Rubberlips feat Day whose beautiful song 'Without The Moon' kicks off the EP. We then have 'Ibicentric' who are fronted by former Sham 69 bassist Andy Prince and remixed by Night Noise regular 'Bedford Falls Players' Mark Cooper.

Regular Night Noise contributors Jamie Porteous, Yarni and @AWITW all deliver music that sits somewhere between Chillout, Balearica and Experimental and in doing so they showcase their many individual talents.
