Following a two-year hiatus, Planet Sundae spring back to life with a beautiful record by DJ Blasy. Titled 'Quantasoma', the EP is inspired by The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard. Set in a future where the ice caps have melted and the rising oceans have submerged so much of the inhabited world. A new nature has formed here, and cities have become primeval swamps. Humans are now in rapid decline as giant lizards, dragonflies and insects thrive. TIP!

Tony G, Drummy, and French Horn Rebellion reimagine Haruka Salt & Tongji’s ‘Everything We Love Will Fade in Time’ EP this September on toucan sounds.

Following Haruka Salt and Tongji’s original EP earlier this year, which picked up support from the likes of Carista, Elena Colombi, Cromby, Ciel, and more, Brooklyn imprint toucan sounds ready a heavy-hitting remix package featuring reinterpretations from French Horn Rebellion, Drummy, and Tony G.

Breathing new life into the original EP, toucan sounds team up with the Sorry Records crew to deliver a family affair featuring some of New Yorks most exciting talents. Leading the release, label boss French Horn Rebellion, via their singer Robert PM, turns in an emotive vocal performance over the original track, utilising dense reverbs to match the dynamic arrangement.

Following is Drummy’s take on ‘Never Satisfaction’, which sees the NYC-based DJ/producer flip the track into a tripped out breakbeat jam complete with flanging FX, dubbed-out vocal hits, and pumping low end. Rounding out the release, Sorry Records honcho Tony G turns in a banging house remix of ‘Scrabble’, reaching for snaking acid lines, snappy drum hits, and dense chords.

Almost a year separates us from the release of Tour-Maubourg’s resounding first album Paradis Artificiels. The former “promising producer of French house” (Trax Magazine, 2017) had confirmed all the promises placed in him, even becoming “the flagship” of this scene, and being named album of the month in Tsugi and DJ Mag ES , or artist to follow by Libération. 

To celebrate this 1st anniversary, Pierre d’Estienne d’Orves invites 4 artists on a remix EP of this first long format: the Parisian producer as well as the founder of D.KO Records Flabaire, the sound explorer Molécule, the British duo Wayward as well as as the poet-designer-musician-performer Joseph Schiano Di Lombo. A sweet melting pot of genres between syncopated deep house, electronic musical experience, UKG and ambient. “I wanted to bring together people with whom I share the same breeding ground of influences” explains Tour- Maubourg, who also signs a remix. To open this new EP, Flabaire revisits the flagship track from the album ‘Ode To Love’ with a twist worthy of Larry Heard, as stated in the title of the remix. “This remix is clearly tinted with my love for US deep-house” he explains.

Tragic Revolution, a New Beat track from 1988, gets a uptempo edit by Lennart.
The catchy melodies and dark vocoder voices caught his attention and inspired him to give this song a new twist.

Lennart is a 23 year old producer from The Netherlands who started working at Slow Motion in the beginning of 2021. In the last year he got introduced to a lot of new music (including this track) by Franz Scala and Fabrizo Mammarella.
This edit was made last summer in the studios of Sameheads in Berlin and is now available as a free download for you!

The door swung wide open with a dramatic thud; in its frame a dark silhouette of a man loomed over the room. Most eyes turned to fix on the entrance, while others cowered beneath their tables, too afraid to make eye contact with the strange figure. He wasn't completely shrouded in mystery, however. In fact, many had been expecting the day he'd darken their doorway, but they never thought it would actually come. From the stories they'd been told, this situation could go one of two ways; they had to hope and pray that luck was on their side.

Last May, Moroccan-born, Geneva-based producer Reda Saiarh released his first EP, alongside production partner Ramin Salem, on Rotterdam’s Afrobotic Musicology. The release signalled the duo’s deftness for blending Eastern & Western samples, a trait that’s on display on Reda’s solo return to the label, Let’s Dance. Made up of four New Beat-inspired tracks, an era of music he was put on to through his Dad’s record collection, the release includes a contemporary flip on a Bowie classic, a homage to Yello and an acidic cut laced with Gabonese chants, in partnership with Thomas Lavanchy.

@phonicarecords proudly welcomes the highly respected producer Dorisburg to their main label roster with a brilliant three track EP of expertly crafted Deep House and Techno.

Sweden’s Dorisburg (real name Alexander Burg) has been consistently creating some of the most carefully constructed dancefloor records over the past decade and his various releases for the likes of Aniara, Bossmusik and Northern Electronics are seemingly always in demand with DJs and listeners alike.

His stunning debut album ‘Irrbloss’ on Hivern Discs sold out almost immediately upon release and still fetches high prices on the second-hand market. This is all to say nothing of his involvement in the critically acclaimed duo Genius Of Time with Nils Krogh (aka Arkajo).

While his productions can vary widely from upbeat and melodic to dark and foreboding, one thing is consistent in them all; atmosphere. This latest chapter in the Dorisburg story is no different, with ‘House Organ For The Lonely’ starting the EP off with a slow-building and ominous feel eventually pierced by a delicate synth line. It’s the little details that mark his productions apart, with tiny flourishes throughout imbuing the track with a layer upon layer of texture.

The overwhelming sensations of physical, social, and emotional detention painted the horizon with a nostalgic hue..."so we felt a certain type of nostalgia for this particular future..." And now, in their sets and performances, Jonny Sriraxa and LuciB aim to transmit the entirety of that accumulated energy through rhythms oriented towards the dance floor--evoking reflection through motion-- and flowing across a variety of genres, histories, and influences that fuse the old, new, and still-evolving.
