MM Discos returns to Asia for their next release, specifically to Seoul, to present the talented producer "Celex", yet another example of the inexhaustible quality of underground Korean music.

Celex, formerly known as Cabinett, is no stranger to electronic music, having spent years developing his own sound where house and deep were his common dominators. This time, the Korean producer moves towards a more "disco" and organic sound.

In "Capa Disco Works", Celex delivers 6 tracks in a "balearic" key where arpeggios and psychedelia go hand in hand, creating the perfect soundtrack for a Mediterranean vacation. Indeed, the album was crafted by Celex following a holiday in Mallorca.

Imagine what the result would be if Giorgio Moroder had spent a weekend at the legendary "Pikes" with only his synthesizers and a good dose of LSD for company; that's what "Capa Disco Works" sounds like.

PREMIERE: Sylphomatic - Super High (Cu Da Curuxa Remix) [Logia Records]

Our latest edit comes from our very own @haryshanthi and is a tribute to Vijaykanth, who passed away on 28th Dec 2023. The male vocalist is Mansoor Ali Khan and female vocalist is from Swarnalatha, a career spanning almost 22 years, she recorded over 10,000 songs in many Indian languages. 
 
Inspired from his 100th film “Captain Prabhakaran” that was released to much fanfare in 1991 and earned him the moniker “Captain” among Tamil Eelam all around the world. This nickname not only reflected his acting skills but his compassions towards introducing young artists from marginalised communities, philanthropic activities and most importantly his ability to stand up against atrocities committed by the British and Srilankan Govt. led by Rajpaksha. 
 
His Legacy encompasses major contributions to Tamil Nadu’s political and social landscape and his courage to utilise his privileged position to help those who were displaced as refugees in Tamil Nadu’s Mandapam Camp. 
 
Vijaykanth in his own words. “The Srilankan tamils are Orphan’s. The aerial bombings of Tamil area’s between 1983 - 2008 without any concern for civilian life is an act of no civilised state resorts too”. 
 
This is a homage to a human in the world of Ego’s, who stood and raised his voice for all the Tamil’s around the world when India (home to largest Tamil population) abandoned them and the British “the creator of this misery” showed their hypocritical side by reserving the term Liberation and Genocide only for white lives.

Soiree Records continue turning heads with their latest various artist offering, "Everland". Hitting shops from June 17, 2024 - this record feels like a cross-section of what the label has been offering the ever shifting sands of the Deep House scene in recent years. Brought to life by the deft artistry of Drivetrain, Blaktony, Funtom, and Hughes Giboulay.

"Everland" is a collection of timeless Deep House music, written through the unique lenses of the four artists, each track a chapter in a larger story of musical exploration and emotive depth. "Hyperlock" by Drivetrain opens the EP and sets the foundation with its solid low-freq assault and seismic energy levels, an exploration of depth and dynamism. Following this, Blaktony's "Butt Naked" establishes its own style with its unique but catchy bassline, weaving a narrative that is both danceable and resonant in a more laid back manner.

Funtom's "Wisdom" relies on rhythmic sophistication with its tribal beats and deep drum workout, punctuated by sharp, intelligent sequences. Closing the record, Hughes Giboulay's "Kickin That Feelin" captures the character of early proto-house, with its animated vocal work and a hypnotic solo, blending traditional Deep House elements with innovative sound design.

Lumberjacks In Hell is the Amsterdam based label run by Marcel Vogel that was established in 2010 and has long been a great source of leftfield club tunes. Having worked with a variety of international artists like Jamie 3:26, Philou Louzolo, Rayko, Karizma and Giovanni Damico, LJIH proudly presents its first release in two and half years from Lu/Lu & LYMA with ‘Hotmoltenlava’.
 
Production duo Lucas van Ee and Tjerk Lammers are collaborators extraordinaire, brothers speaking in code and working in unison, a hive mind of ideas and creativity that was always bound to erupt like a Vulcano. Lu/Lu & LYMA is a side project of the Amsterdam based LIKEMINDS, and together they share a studio together on the outskirts of the city. Both Artists are heavily involved in the local music scene, a scene that defies genre in favour of more sonic adventures. As part of this ever-merging network of collaborators, Lu/Lu & LYMA also manifest their music in a vibrant live set.
 
Across the seven tracks of ‘Hotmoltenlava’, the music serves as a captivating odyssey of electrifying new house anthems that seamlessly combine the pulsating production rhythms of Lu/Lu with the sultry tones of LYMA. 2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

We had a great 2016 settling back into Edinburgh’s underground scene. All the parties we put on have been fantastic for many different reasons but it was a pleasure to have Optimo play for us for the first time.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

We had a longer break than expected this Winter so we will be picking up our bi-monthly NSA presents again in Edinburgh’s Mash House kicking of with A Love From Outer Space on March 10th which has already sold out.

In May we celebrate 22 years of our club night which has lasted a lot longer than either of us anticipated and we have put together a very special line up to mark the occasion with Andrew Weatherall & Ivan Smagghe back to back all night long.

We will also be playing at this years Alfresco Festival in Tunbridge wells with a whole host of great acts, starting our irregular club at Sneaky Pete’s which is a really cool small space which we hope will have a similar intensity to the early parties we put on. We will be doing something for the Edinburgh Festival and then bringing up a few new acts to NSA before the year is out.

No.33 in the Sinchi & Friends mix series are the @shamaniacmovement . A really interesting  project in our home city of Amsterdam, combining art, music and shamanism.  We really enjoyed their recent EP Sham-Dee, which was one of the most original releases of the last year and delighted to give you this glimpse into their world.

1) Introduce yourself?

Hey there, we are Kiki Toao & Rombout, The Shamaniac Movement. 
We live in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Since Kiki's calling to the shamanic path we have made it our goal to incorporate our music and art with our spiritual development, which is resulting in all sorts of crazy creativity.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months? 
Traveling to Costa Rica for shamanic education, production of a music video for our track Sibaso-Dukun, release of Sham-Dee EP and we've done some very nice DJ gigs and shamanic ceremonies.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?
First of all continuation of shamanic education, it involves a lot of studying so hopefully there will be some time left for more music making and we're thinking about making a new film. 
Very special is our collaboration with The Gardens of Babylon who organizes monthly events, combining house music with spirituality. We perform shamanic readings and cleansings during the nights.

Sinchi & Friends 40 comes from @haulesbaules . DJ , producer and label head, Logan is the real deal.... a DJ's DJ, known for his flawless mixing and track selections spanning many genres. We asked him about his mood for this mix...

'I put this together after the mother of all party weekends in Paris with a bunch of close friends, so I needed to ease myself into the mix gently, before slowly getting a bit more intense. A few dubby and Italo influences, and not taking it too seriously.'

1) Who are you? 

I’m Logan AKA Haules Baules

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months? 

Definitely playing at La Dame Noir in Marseille last month. Amazing club, with a super loose, up for it crowd and a real open hearted attitude.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year? 

I’ve been a bit quiet on the production front of late, so getting some more records out is my focus this year.

Sinchi & Friends 41 comes from rising star of the Mexican electronic music scene @rigopolar .  We've been big fans of his productions for some time and reckon there's much more to come.  This mix was inspired from his recent visit to Mar de Cortez, Baja California where he said the nights are magical... in his own words this mix is a trip to the desert and to those nights in the middle of nowhere.

1) Who are you?

I am Menio Brown a.k.a. Rigopolar, Mexican electronic music producer born in the north of the country in a full mooned September night of 1982.

2)What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

I’ve been in the shadows of my studio cooking new dishes, EP’s, and remixes.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

My new EP “Greater” will be released in July by Nazca Records. Right now I’m finishing some remixes for Italo Brutalo, Swing Atoms (Mx) and Tronik Youth, after this I will begin working on a new EP. Surely there will be more stuff coming for the end of the year.

Number 53 in the Sinchi & Friends series is @CannibalInk , the trio from Madrid who have had become one of the most sought after producers in the scene . Their 'Samarkanda' EP in 2017 being a particular highlight for us. Get to know the team below and get ready to dance with this quality mix.

1) Who are you?

We are Andres , Antonio & Guillermo . I (Guillermo) started to work initially with these guys in under their old alias Voodoo Corporation.

The idea came after many talks about what kind of music we would like to make. Fusion electronic with rock , guitars, dark wave , synth pop and others old styles like EBM or New beat.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

2017 was very important for us . Our first productions on vinyl.  First Ombra Recordings release with brother Curses and the Samarkanda EP with Rotten city records .And of course our trip in Berlin playing in Wilden Renate and Sisyphos . Germany is another league for clubs . 

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

2018 is going to be a good year we think . A lot of studio work , A remix for Dionigi incoming , 3 track EP on Days of being wild . And more TBA ( we are crossing fingers for a lot of new shit) .And of course new gigs in London , Vilnius & Berlin . If anyone want book us feel free ;-)
