Absolutely on music, Torture the Artist's monthly radio show on [sic]nal airs from the famous bunker in St. Pauli, namely the Übel & Gefährlich club. Hosted by Marc Wolf and Holger Breuer the show is all about music, featuring up- and coming music as well as shortly released tracks. For the November episode Hamburg artist trio Falk, Natalie and Max, better known under their RSS Disco moniker, visited the premises to chat about future projects, including remixes and an album, how they made it through the pandemic and gave us and overview of shortly released and upcoming music on their label Mireia. Later on the three shared the decks to play one of their energetic sets.

1)Who are you?

Hi, I am 22ROCKETS, part of the inventory of Berlin's SALON - ZUR WILDEN RENATE and hosting the VOYAGE VOYAGE events there together with my partner THE SWIFT. Voyage Voyage is the bi-monthly transit zone party, running for 8 years now and part of a certain music scene.

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months? 

Building my own studio with my good friend Rob, finally starting to work on my own music. Discovered new top notch Pizza places in Berlin. 

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year? 

We've got awesome Voyage Voyage lineups coming, plus an open-air at ELSE (Renate's sister open-air location) with IVAN SMAGGHE, MANFREDAS, FANTASTIC TWINS (live), AUTARKIC, MOSCOMAN and more... Save the date and come to Berlin on the 8th July 2018 !

Formed in 2007 by the Brazilians Geraldo Nogueira and Mari Jares, BemBom was originated when the couple had the idea to start a podcast featuring their favourite music. Seeing their unique talent, close friends gave a little push and things started happening. From the very first podcast to uplifting the crowd on the dancefloor, BemBom has rapidly grown into a fierce and dynamic duo ready to set the mood with their refined and characteristic sound. 

The sound of the duo has a strong footing in Disco Music while playing various other styles, including House and Tech- House. During their performances, the songs connect to each other, telling a narrative and making the set quite dynamic and danceable. Benjamin Ferreira (Ursound), Márcio Vermelho (ODD), Leiloca Pantoja (D-Edge), Magal (CIO), Celestino (SXDNS), Zopelar (Teto Preto) are some of the names with whom BemBom shared the Pick Ups.

BemBom currently resides in Portugal and since 2015 has been playing on a monthly basis at Plano B in Porto. The twosome plays long sets surrounding Disco Music and House. In addition, they also usually play music in Terraplana Bar, where they do something different and focus on organic sounds, turning to Soul / Funk / Disco. They have also performed in Braga (Portugal) in the Casa dos Coimbras, Juno, Monastery and Peste spaces. Recently, the duo was on a short tour through Frankfurt and played at Old Fashioned Bar, NM57 and OFOF Cafe.

art:cast °85 | Peter Invasion

The latest art:cast episode is a musical invasion by one of Leipzig's leading musical heads, namely by Peter Invasion. The creative and former Here Is Why band member, Peter Invasion was the drummer, firmly has things under control when it comes to one of Germany's aspiring clubs, the Institut für Zukunft, for which he's done the bookings. Besides Markus Krasselt, Peter Invasion's real name, is the co-label head of Riotvan, a label he founded in 2012, the label hosted the first two releases of Here Is Why, before it's become a familiar family affair as Panthera Krause joined Peter. From day one the label has served close artists as a platform to releases their (demanding and ambitious) music. Speaking of the latter for Peter Invasion's art:cast the artist provides his audience with exclusive and eclectic music, the first track for examples comes from Sexxy Legs, Peter Invasion's partner, and also underlines his philosophy to keep his loved ones (musically) close. However, the art:cast is not only a family affair but includes disco-ish, rock-ish and housey takes from producers that have been under Peter's radar for a moment or just popped up in his exclusive promo inbox. The result is a heterogenous homogenous composition: heterogenous because Peter draws on to various electronic sub-genres; homogenous because Peter smoothly mixes them so the musical borders soften – if they have ever existed in his world.
