Mit der neuen „Sonar EP“ von Konomo aus Budapest begeben sich die Meeronaut*innen in unbekannte Tiefen des Ozeans. Gekonnt führt der Künstler die HörerInnen in den zeitlosen Raum verwunschener Schallimpulse. Den Einstieg macht der Track „Who You Really Are“, der uns in eine entfernte Welt mitnimmt und sorgfältig auf dubbigen Soundteppichen in andere Dimensionen begleitet. Bei „Double Groove“ begleitet uns Konomo dann in ein Land der Sehnsucht und Entspannung und sorgt mit beflügelnden Tönen für eine angenehme Wärme. @alessandro_crimi nimmt diese Stimmung gleichermaßen auf, verleiht dem Track mit seinem Remix jedoch ein sphärisches Gerüst. Zum Schluss bringt uns „Valami“ mit einer wohligen inneren Ruhe wundervollen stimmlichen Facetten wieder an den Ort des Beginns der Reise und lädt uns mit seiner melancholischen Aura zum Träumen ein.

Delighted to introduce @Boshoco as the latest addition to the Sinchi & Friends mix series. We first had contact with the Syrian duo late last year when they sent us a demo of their latest track 'Semsem' , which we instantly fell in love with and will be the next release on the Sinchi label, with remixes from Shubostar and Damon Jee,.

Not only do we consider them as an exciting talent, they have some story, part of which you can pick up from their interview below, the rest will have to await until the release itself.  Whilst you wait , I can tell you that the track can be found in the middle of the podcast and was the inspiration for full 90min mix.  Enjoy!

ABOUT

1) Introduce yourself?

We are Boshoco, a duo from Aleppo in Syria that enjoy making music, playing music and dancing (we also work in humanitarian and development with NGOs, we actually met working in a refugee camp south of Turkey).

2) What have been your highlights from the last 12 months?

Moving to Europe – Touring in Europe with our friend Hello Psychaleppo - Playing a secret location in Damascus, Syria for the first time - Getting in contact with Sinchi.

3) What do you have lined up for the coming year?

2 EPs, Semsem and Zalghouta, singles and collabs with Syrian artists.

The amazing Acid Arab invited me to come play at two of their "La Hafla" nights in May 2020; one in Rex Club Paris and one in Gretchen Berlin. Due to obvious reasons both nights were postponed, so we thought it would be nice to make a podcast for you in the meantime.
