After the huge success of his "Despertar" LP release, Piek is straight back in the saddle to deliver another thrilling workout, this time it’s a family affair. 

Two separate ‘Despertar’ remixed EP’s in late June full of unreleased gems – new interpretations of Henry Saiz, Eelke Klejin, El_Txef_A, AFFKT, Reykjavik606, Upercent, Carlo and Third Son- and then, a full-packed album this Fall 2017 including another couple of unpublished reworks.

First stop is for the genuine and always-inspired Spaniard Henry Saiz (Permanent Vacation, Kitsuné, Get Physical, Natura Sonoris) making the cut entitled “Despertar”. The Song that in the end lent its name to Piek's debut LP. As Henry often attests, his created formula “is a musical language that can be difficult to describe, but simple to enjoy”. Exciting new directions, which just scream good times. Armoured drums, a thick sub, dark voices and a hallucinogenic synth riff into a cold, stoney banger. Henry Saiz’ remix is followed by El_Txef_A and his rework for “Avalanche”. Prepare to dig into an outstanding piece of work that showcases his talents as a producer. El_Txef_A conjure is all about a brooding electronic landscape of techno. A dubwise, reductionists glory. 
And then some muscled beats to hit the dance-floor. Third Son (Noir Music, Einmusika, Sincopat, Stil Vor Talent) remixes for example “Sou Les Etoiles”. He has pieced together a club-ready brand new track full of utopian esque soundscapes and drum machine filled sequences. Intimidating underground-techno at its best. Closing this 1st circle, some fine trippy sounds and smooth drum patterns on “I Saw You” reworked by the hardware-junkies duo Reykjavik606. Floatation therapy!

Bio: 

Exploring different sounds is truly crucial for us as a label. While many in the industry try to specialize on one
certain sound, we want to break the tunnel vision and show the world great variation of music, while
maintaining the most important ingredient, that truly embodies the sound of Nie Wieder Schlafen :
Atmosphere. Kotu take you into the deepest realms of organic resonances, with the focus on mesmerizing
percussions and tribal drum patterns. The original tracks are complemented by a remix from Kincaid & Sinàl,
who recently joined the family.

„Skoura“ is a percussion focused production, that is based around a minimal, but strong groove. Screams &
giggles of hyenahs are present throughout the track and help transport you to a distant land. Organic drum
arrangements keep up the dynamics in this minimalistic track, which slowly evolves into a hypnotic ride, pulling
you in with its details.

While the vibe remains, the dynamics change quite drastically in „Makalu“. A production led by a variety of
interesting leads including a lovely vocal sample, harmonic pads & a rather striking bassline that achieves to
create a sound of the wild. Kotu builds on the minimalistic drum groove of Skoura with beautiful ethereal
elements only to hit you with clear drum drops, that will melt together with the natural atmosphere of this track.

At last, we invited Kincaid & Sinàl to create a track, that truly pushes the boundaries of what can be achieved
in electronic music :

The guys were able to rework the Original in a way that is not only fascinating, but utterly unique. Not a single
part of the remix seems the same, as the track is continiously progressing and changing. It feels as if you are
never in one place for too long. From dark basslines, to mysterious & intimate sections, up to high pitched
synths work...this remix has it all. A true trip, created with passion & professionel craft, through its entire
runtime. It is absolutely not surprising that the productions of these guys are supported all over the world – A
true honour to have them with us. As always please go have fun with these pieces of art!
