Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz, performing as music duo Super Flu since 2005, released “Halle Saale” via their own record label Monaberry. These days, Monaberry’s 22nd release – five remixes of four “Halle Saale” tracks – is ready to be published on April 24th, 2014. Music duo Format:B, DJ Koze from Flensburg (who recently won the Echo 2014 critic’s choice award), Stephan Bodzin from Bremen, Martin Waslewski and Cologne-based duo Andhim contribute one remix each. Stephan Bodzin, head of Herzblut record label, is responsible for one “Jo Gurt” remix and another trndmusik premiere.

Named after the signature Larry Heard tune that introduced the world to “Jack,” the track is the latest by DJ/producer/radio host/label head Schneider to pay homage to the Chicago greats, following last spring’s Ron Hardy-inspired “Hey,” which became an instant fave when Anja dropped it at the always in demand Mobilee rooftop parties in Barcelona. 2015 will see German techno mainstay Stephan Bodzin ready to unleash his next full-length musical vision on the world. Entitled “Powers of Ten”, the 10-track album will land in June 2015 on his own Herzblut Recordings and provides another great insight into the melodically rich muscle mind of this modern great.
Says Stephan Bodzin of the LP: “Powers of Ten has been with me all my life and is named after a book that has been my background hiss, its confusing truth is my only real faith and its infinity shows me its finiteness. The album is about harmonies, melodies, rhythms. It is an homage to Bob Moog, full of techno beats and sounds and space and party and ecstasy and dancing and listening, and crying and feeling. It is a journey, a philosophy of life, a view of the world, a vague perception. It is my wife, my children, my family, my friends, my passion, my enemy, my greatest fulfillment, my fear, my deepest peace, my power, all my love.”
As such, this album is hugely personal and is filled with cerebral messages and well thought out concepts. All this shines through and makes it an all the more engaging listen from start to finish. Kicking off with the spine tingling chords and louche beats of ‘Singularity’ cuts like ‘Lila’ then continue to confirm that Stephan Bodzin has a classical understanding of melody that is way beyond your average.
‘Blue Giant’, ‘Wir’ and ‘Ix’ all manage to be uplifting and thoughtful at the same time as driven and groovy, whilst ‘Birth’ comes on with a hymnal high note, long tailed pads and subtly shifting beats. The ghostly grooves of ‘Zulu’ mark a majestic mid point to the album, which then continues to seduce with spiritual synths and more beautiful melodies on cuts like ‘Odyssee’ as well as the album’s standout title track.
Unfolding coherently and in soothing fashion, this album once again proves that few producers in the modern world have a knack for melody and an ear for sonic ingenuity quite like Stephan Bodzin.

Sincopat head honcho, AFFKT, continues his label's Vomvo album series with the 4-track Vomvo 02 Part 1.

Inaugurated by Darlyn Vlys last year, the concept asks artists to create their own personal soundtrack. Aiming for a "rawer and darker" sound than usual, AFFKT says he received the tracks from respected artists and friends, most of which he either mixed down in the studio or helped create.

The final track on the release comes from up and coming UK based techno producer, True Story. As ominously brooding as its title would suggest, this wintery number is not for the feint hearted. Stream the track now and head to Beatport via the buy link to grab the EP

True Story - Dark is Coming

It is with great pleasure that MNL welcomes Argentinian progressive house heavy weight Antrim back on board. He debuted on the label last summer with the well received and much supported 'Leak Gardens' track which left us craving for more, so here we go! Antrim drops two original tracks; the emotional builder 'The Chemical Of Return' and 'Parallel', a mover and groover in classic progressive house fashion.

Each of the songs get a remix treatment. The title track gets reworked by well known Turkish producer Erdi Irmak who turns the deep song into a peak time progressive techno monster, whilst Spanish rising star Gullen serves us with a more minimalistic and subdued take on 'Parallel'.

2016 has officialy started, and this release gives you a good taste of where MNL will be taking things this year!

Ever since Norwegian mystery man Gundelach debuted in late 2015 with his singe “Spiders”, he has quietly been making waves. In the Nordics it was a radio hit, and landed him festivals slots on some of this coming summer’s biggest stages like Øya, Roskilde and more. Internationally, it was #1 on Hype Machine, picked by Pharrell for his Beats1 show and garnered millions of streams. 

After recently playing Sentrum Scene in Oslo to 1700 people, his new single ”Fjernsynet” (Norwegian for television set) is poised to lift him to new heights with its cooly delivered falsetto over a driving rhythm accentuated by beautiful analog-electronic production. It’s a broody, melancholic and catchy anthem for driving late at night and the centre piece of his forth-coming debut EP.

The remixes are raising the bar even higher with Fur Coat going towards the deep electronic melodic house direction with deep pulsating basslines, rolling grooves, electronic themes and superb spacey futuristic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Super talented Swiss producer Jeremy Vieira is known as Several Definitions. His fresh sound means another step in the contemporary electronic music scene. His sound is hard to get a clear definition, it rides between tech-house and trance.
 
The pack opens with Square, where Jeremy presents a unique and new style offering fresh proposes to a track. He only needs a few items to get the best result. Why Eat a Super Jam offers a catchy voice as a hook and some amazing crazy synths in an unpredictable way. British rising star Ten Ven gives the best on remix duties for a special version of this.

Graphium follows the futuristic and tasteful line of Electronic Music. Sinister and dark voices for a devastating effect on the dancefloor. Me My Molly shows Pete’s more elegant stuff. He goes a bit deeper with sensual melodies but for sure also a great pick of the night. But, as Pete says, let the music speak by itself.
