A1ks (A Thousand Shades) is a project born from the minds of David Carollo & Michel Meroni on 2015. The duo's focus is the exploration of the thousand shades of House, Techno and Electronic music. A1ks brought their DJ sets in several events/clubs in Italy (Milan and Bologna), and outside the national country, in Czech Republic (U Bukanyra Houseboat and Opposite Club, Prague), in Germany (Kantine Club and Wonzimmer, Konstanz) in Singapore (Hotel Jen Orchardgateway), and Turkey (Zor, Istanbul). The duo is also co-hosting the radio show "Sinestesia", on-air on Ibiza Live Radio every Monday at 11 pm Ibiza local time on 103.7FM and www.ibizaliveradio.com, where they are featuring underground DJs and producers from all over the world. Their first release "Dark Rituals" is out now on the Barcelona-based WOOD Records.

Javier Martínez has always conceived musical production as the basis of his lifestyle since he started professionally in the industry and without the hearing disability with which he was born truncates the dreams and objectives of what we now know as Ctrls303. After a retired time, he returned in 2008 to the booths of numerous clubs in cities such as Barcelona, ​​Ibiza, Madrid, Almeria or Berlin, among others, contributing to the electronic scene a renewed musical selection with a lot of personality, under coherent lines that They evoke Deep and Dub Techno, under a Detroit sound sense. In 2010, immersed in the production gives life to Submoover Records, the record label of Deep Techno, Dub Techno and Techno with Toni Martínez, with important releases such as Tiritatucan - Tiritatucan EP, Dany Angelelli - Alchemy of Technology EP or Analog People - The True EP, among many others. After two years of hard work, in 2012 Javier is diagnosed Retinosis Pigmentary Usher syndrome type II (Deaf Blindness), a rare disease without cure today that affects both vision and hearing, which leaves him outside the world of production, assimilating his fate. However, in 2018 and with the desire to express his feelings more than ever, Martínez takes the reins of his future to return to compose and produce electronic music in a combination of talent and tenacity that will bring us to the beginning of next year 2019, as result, his new and more intense musical projects under the alias of Ctrls303 and sponsored under the demanding record label Rhod Records. Unlimited. Because to love is always power.

In the early beginnings of David’s musical journey, he stayed awake to tape-record live radio broadcasts by major Italian clubs, then created his original compilations, all with an old stereo. As soon as he laid hands on his first pair of Pioneer CDJ-100s in 2004, he began to spread his holistic, broad-minded collection of dance music with deep, funky, afro, tech, soulful, melodic to minimal house influences.

It brought him to Magazzini Generali, Amnesia, Leoncavallo, Milano Design Week and Milano Fashion Week in Italy, and to other parts of the world like Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey, playing alongside artists like Nic Fanciulli, Davide Squillace, Idriss D, Jeremy Olander, EarthLife, DOBé, Cats on Crack, Rammo, Cosmo & Kramer, Rolandson, Francesco Farfa and Adriano Canzian.

Currently he is living in Singapore, and he is bringing his set in clubs and events like Headquarters, Tuff Club, Somewhere, Kilo Lounge, Manifest, Ce La Vi, Tanjong Beach Club, Sunday Social and BeerFest Asia. During the pandemic he participated in one of the live streamings of United We Stream Asia too.

David’s love of radio also led him to host his own program, Sinestesia the exploration of 5 senses in music, since 2010 on the italian BM radio, and from 2020 on Ibiza Live Radio, 103.7 FM in Ibiza and Formentera and by mobile app and official website www.ibizaliveradio.com for the rest of the world. Apart from this, he is regularly featuring his guest mixes on international radios and podcast series such as Intaresu (GER), Deep MVMT (UK), Evaporate (TW), The Warehouse (VN), Voidrealm (MY) and Dub Techno TV, just to mention a few.

Production side, with his friend Michel Meroni, is part of the duo A1kS (A Thousand Shades), a collaboration that seeks to explore and express “a thousand shades” of electronic music. Armed with bonus knowledge of analog machines and music production software and sequencers, the duo has released their first single in 2020 on the Barcelona-based WOOD Records.
