I wrote this on September 12, 2001 in an attempt to deal with and process the tragedy that happened the day before. It sat in a drawer for years...I didn't want to do anything with it lest it look like I was trying to capitalize on a tragedy. Now that we've seen tragedies at the Boston Marathon, the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, the Harvest Music Fest in Vegas and so on, I decided it was time to record it in tribute to victims of violence and their loved ones.
