great episode man. i remember making a mixtape of all the music from snowy/wintery levels i liked because ice music has always been my favorite, and a LOT of these were on it. especially love the paper mario track

love these snowy tracks, another track I think that would have fit for this podcast was Cragrivation from Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2

I've always been a huge nerd for the music of water and ice areas in games. I gotta admit, I perked up a bit when you intro'd the last song, as I thought it was gonna be "Another Winter" by Anamanaguchi from the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World game. It was still a great track though. This podcast has been a godsend for my otherwise kinda dull data entry job.

The Narshe track from Final Fantasy VI reminds me of "Enter the Pirate Ship" from Rayman 2, the Great Escape.

In this end-of-year installment, I'm trying to get together the best of the less holly-jolly music from ice levels. Think crystal blue. Think sparkly. “Lez Be Friends” (April 28, 1997): For a lot of ’80s kids, Amanda Bearse was one of the first gay people they ever heard about. And while Bearse came out in 1993, she got to put LGBT themes in the spotlight in a 1997 episode in which she plays both Marcy D’Arcy and her lesbian cousin, Mandy. It’s a product of its time, for sure, but at its heart is a fairly thoughtful depiction of a happy, function person who’s better off for having come out of the closet. Bonus points for Elaine Hendrix.

A Very Brady Christmas Is Gay Enough, Say Drew & Glen

For the 70th entry of the Honcho Podcast Series, we welcome LA-native @jake-muir. Fascinated by musical intimacy, Muir centers his work around the use of 'found sound', including field recordings, vinyl loops, and shortwave radio clips. These audio fragments are manipulated and welded together to further distance them from their original context. We thought a mix of soft, atmospheric tones would be a meditative way to begin the new year.

This one exemplifies what it meant to do a gay sitcom after the point in time when it was no longer enough to just showcase straight characters being surprised that gay people exist, but is this a worthy successor to “Homer’s Phobia”? Homer Moves Into the Gayborhood

“Cousin Liz” (October 9, 1977) 

After two years and more than a few negative comments, Drew and Glen once again focus their gaze on All in the Family, a sitcom about America’s favorite ignoramus. This episode is a sweet and it is elegant, and it shows how readily Jean Stapleton’s Edith can accept that love between two women isn’t at all different from her love for her husband. There’s no B plot and only three characters, yet this is one of the best episodes GEE has reviewed so far.
