‘Down Gone’ explores speech and homophonic translation, and their musicalisation. It thematises wild fermentation as metaphor for survival of trauma, and ‘misheard voice’ in order to address the entanglement of racism and sexism on East-Asian female body. It examines ways of listening to languages, politics of inclusion, and interrogates linguistic diversity through artistic context. Nominated for Ivor Novello Composers' Award Sound Arts Category 2022.
