We've been wanting to have Lynne in our podcast collection for a long time and her incredible mix has finally arrived from Tokyo. The Japanese artist based in London always shows us clear influences of Drum & Bass and Techno in her mixes, as well as works with a more Experimental style, always elegant and enigmatic in her sound. This time Lynne gives us a minimalist sound podcast with a very intelligent and meticulous selection that makes us travel from the beginning in a deep environment full of lights and shadows in a very skillful way. This podcast is a work of art and we hope you really enjoy it!!!

2024 DJ Mix

If you keep your ear to London’s vibrant queer scene, @sketch_sketchii name should have caught your eye. A resident of East London queer collective FamFem, she has played gigs around the city including Origins, and Risen Festival to name a few.

SKETCH’s story is one of searching. Her roots lie in her home country of Singapore where she began to explore her musical palette. However, after testing her wings as an artist in Singapore’s creative circuit, racial and sexuality-based barriers held her back. Although currently settled on the other side of the world, her Malay roots are something she still holds dear. Earlier this year she released her debut single Khayal.

Inspired by the hypnotic effect of traditional Javanese dance, Khayal takes gamelan instrumentation and contextualises it for the ritual of the Western dancefloor.

In a similar fashion to what you would find in an episode of Blues Clues, SKETCH's music has revealed the path she needed to travel. To a place where both her and her sound would fit best. Now settled in London and finally around her tribe, those same sonic sketches have allowed festivals, media outlets, and clubs from the UK and beyond to find her.

We spoke to the rising underground artist about her move from Singapore, her love for London’s queer community and more.

For its 11th digital release, Syrinx Music invites Agôn and Céline B. (also known as Céline Technorama) to share a collaboration that originated in 2023. Surfaces offers these seven tracks a new life, as they were initially produced as the soundtrack for Lou-Justin Tailhades “Bonsoir Mémoire”’s exhibition at Monnaie de Paris in November 2023. Out of its original context, this collaboration displays a remarkable balance of sensations: taking cues from ambient or the abstract electronic patterns of Actress, the EP melts spleen & light, aquatic and aerial vibes. Enigmatic loops and deep textures combine in exploratory and poetic atmospheres. Three of the tracks are completed by vocals from lucieter (who recently released a Syrinx Music EP), Axou, Clara & Halveig: delivered or spread across the tracks, the lyrics question memories, oblivion & disappearance, but the vocals also act as another sound, interacting with Alban Jacquin & Céline Bouscarle’s experimentations. Following on their first collaborative track out on Beatrice M.'s Bait, Surfaces is a complex EP made of out-of-time sensations, questioning our relationship to time & forgetfulness.
