A spontaneous celebration bedroom set featuring my favourite tracks of the FCKING SERIOUS label 🎉🥂

Studio Sessions 003 - A FCKING Serious Job - High-Tech Minimal Mix - Zürich 12.03.2021

I was particularly looking forward to playing this set - at the peak of our first night in Tankwa.

Past years have seen me with a change in direction of sound, playing sounds from 95-110bpm…and of a more eclectic nature. But this was going to be different. Starting up with a long audio-space intro track I had the pleasure (for the first time ever on LOBO) of constructing the lighting show to match (with the help of our lighting expert Angelo)the intro. 
It was dark, and from the background came the rumble... 

A collection of sounds ranging from techno, house, indie disco and breakbeat, geared to shake the floor it was destined for - at this particular hour on the first Friday night, when energy is abundant. This was one of those structured alignments of beats that basically allowed my pitch control to sit put for a while, as i chose track after track. With all 34 tracks i had selected for the 2hr slot done with 20minutes to go…I dug a little deeper to finish what would become the most enjoyed set of my 21-years behind the wheels!

One helluva engaging and connected dancefloor to work with, and a feast for the eyes from within that booth!

Sunrise at Burning Man
It is high on the list of the things I could write a book about.

The relentless wrench that is 2020 forced us to consider and reconsider almost every aspect of our lives and routines, including Burning Man. In the quest of finding solutions for all this disruption, we all came up with some pretty cool stuff so far, and the creative forces that take the spectacle of Black Rock City to increasingly bigger heights each year went into overdrive to create and a virtual version of our beloved dust bowl. 

Comparing the virtual Burning Man to its IRL counterpart is as foolish as comparing ‘2019 Burning Man’ to the 1998 edition. Each year is different, and 2020 forced us to adapt to a new kind of different. Playing a sunrise set on the real playa is incomparable to doing one in VR, where only one out of the 24 global time-zones experiences the actual sunrise while the music unfolds; where there are no collective goosebumps, shivers and hugs, and where you can probably not feel the bass like when you’re standing in front of a battalion of dusty sub-woofers. 

However, there were elements of yesterday’s sunrise that made it uniquely special for me. The most important element was the inspiration to make a long three-hour Deep House journey again, which I had not done in months. Quarantine had made me explore different genres and moods, dismissing Deep House as something pointless that should only be played in the presence of collective energy. But even though a streaming event and a VR event are ‘cheating’ when it comes to collective energy, this one still had that feeling that the moment is being experienced by many people at once. 

I very much enjoyed the act of imagining the full extent of collective energy, even though my screen only revealed the implication of this energy. I am very proud of this musical journey and I published it for re-listening. I hope you enjoy it too, and you too can close your eyes when listening, and imagine the moment when we are all standing in front of those bass-bins again, and we can scream, shout, gaze, and hug. The power of music is an incredible force, and I am honored to be a link in its chain.

Ollie Mundy - SPARKLEVERSE Co-Reality Sound Burning Man 2020

There was no real Burn in 2020, as you well know, but we still had playa music all week at the Virtual version of Burning Man where Opulent Temple had a camp in the 'Dusty Multiverse'.

I approached the set as I always would a playa set. I was imagining starting on playa at 9:00pm (as this set did), with the dance floor slowly filling up with that 'come for a magic night' vibe that always accompanies the Wednesday night Sacred Dance white costume party at Opulent Temple.

Start off pretty and deeper, a little more progressive than my usual sound, build it up and pull it back before getting to a more jackin' groove, and end on a pretty note.  Hope you feel the desert vibez.

Live at Virtual Burn 2020, Opulent Temple Wednesday

This track was created for my dear friend Cami. 

The intention of this session is to release stuck emotions, focus on the Throat Chakra to speak one's truth, and create a container for self-love, acceptance and visualization of prosperity and happiness with the alignment of the Third Eye and Crown Chakra :)

I used Tibetan Singing Bowls mostly in the keys G, A and B, 253 hz frequency, voice, and other sacred instruments, as well as @Echogridmusic for ambient music.
