Antwerp and Hamburg-based dream-pop duo THE DAY will release their new single "June" on March 4, 2022. After the bitter "Empty" from autumn 2021, the track is already the second glimpse into The Day's new album, which will be released at the end of 2022.

The Day on "June": 

"'June' is a real coming-of-age song. The song is about a deep friendship that somehow got lost on the way to adulthood. The lyrics tell of the carelessness of teenagers, of the unclear boundaries between friendship and love, of living in the moment. At the same time, fears and worries emerge, about one's own future, about the world itself. The older you get, the more space they take up and push friendship more and more into the background until it finally fades away completely."

Over the past year, The Day not only had to deal with various lockdowns. On top, closed borders and different national regulations stood in the way of their collaborative band. For a pan-European project like The Day, there is simply no common day-to-day life during the pandemic, no basis for working together in the same place. With the current relaxations, a band like The Day is now possible again. They now have a new hopeful starting point.

The Day release two DIY EPs and their debut album "Midnight Parade" in early 2019. After a series of tasteful cover versions, the band continues to formulate their own version of pop music. A music that is intimate without being imposing. That is meant to connect and looks forward. Restrained, melancholic and always touching the heart.

The Day - June

"Who Are You" is the first single from the new album "The Trail" by Berlin-based musician and artist Miss Kenichi. A gently chased, dark hymn to the need not to be deterred. The song has already caught attention since it was used in the multiply distinguished movie "Free Fall" and gives a promising lookout to the album, which will be released in autumn 2014.

Ane Bjerkan’s unique voice and personality is gaining attention in the jungle of new Norwegian artists. Her compositions and lyrics are innovative and subtle, making Ane Bjerkan’s music personal and enticing. Her sound features pop and folk flavoured with jazz, delivered with soulful vocals and evocative melodies.

"'Arrows' is a treasure of a song to me. I’ve known it since the release of the debut album of Einar Strays Orchestra and also really liked the version of it that he did together with the band Your Headlights Are On back in 2011." says Ane.

"Einar asked me to do a cover of a song just some days after our first child was born and I was in a bubble of sensitivity and love where "Arrows" really resonated in me. The sentence from the chorus made a new meaning "All of you, destroyed with nothing but a stone or two" gave a new meaning. I felt like I had the strong love as an armor and arrows floating over us." Ane explains.

The recording of the cover of "Arrows" took place in a basement studio in Oslo in December last year and was recorded by Håkon Brunborg Kjenstad, who also plays guitar, viola and sings in the version. Ane’s newborn baby, Bergljot, was sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor during the sessions.

In the cover version of the song Ane and her band combined the original arrangement of the song, with improvisations on viola and soprano saxophone. The original noise part in the outro is replaced by a processed saxophone solo over dark viola tones. Ane explains: "Camilla (sax) was playing something that to me sounds like wild arrows played by some darker sister of a Turkish kaval. I still listen to the part over and over again."

The cover of "Arrows" is played by Ane Bjerkan (vocal and Indian harmonium), Håkon Brunborg Kjenstad (guitar, viola and vocals), Jørgen Apeness (drums) and Camilla Hole (soprano saxophone) and Kenneth Ishak (bass). Kenneth Ishak (Beezewax, Universet etc) have also mixed the song. 

Originating from the peninsula Inderøy, north of Trondheim, Ane Bjerkan named her upcoming album the old name of her hometown «Eyinni Indri» (the inner island). The album will be released in spring 2023 and Einar Stay is also contributing to the album with keys, voice and sounds. The album will also include this version of "Arrows".

Following contributions by Mayuko (DE) and Von August (NO), Ane Bjerkan's interpretation is the third release to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Einar Stray Orchestra’s debut album "Chiaroscuro". 2022 will see a series of cover versions and reworks of all the tracks on "Chiaroscuro".

Odd Beholder announces the third and most personal album "Feel Better" with the release of the first single "Just Because I Regret It" With the track, Weinmann debates the morally ambiguous edges of our actions. The song is punkish-rebelliously charged: You can feel the desire to be amoral, to refuse and to say no!

"The lyrics, though, are about regret," Weinmann explains, "and how one's problematic patterns of behavior can't be so easily discarded. After the sad brigde (You're on a course / That you don't wanna be on / Call it a curse), the beat comes back almost a bit too joyfully stomping. Perhaps the person expressing themmselves here is at a crossroads, trying to decide between revolution and therapy. Whether the song is a lustful, yet evil dance track or a reflective therapy anthem is now entirely up to the listener."

The electro / synthwave - trio LSSNS from Helsinki and Leipzig finally releases the debut full-lenght album „Transit“ in October, following their "Tempest EP" and great collabs as with Adam Port, or Magdalena, among others.

"Radical Eye," the lead single from the album, is a track about control, the fear of losing it, and the relief of letting go from time to time. LSSNS elaborate: 

"'Radical Eye' is a song about the fear of losing control but also asking someone to take over and taking control from you. Asking for a transformation. In the moment, that needs to be celebrated and consumed to the fullest. It may not be the most positive song in that sense. But vitalizing, motivating and hungry for more."

LSSNS are Patrick Sudarski and brothers Samu and Ville Kuukka. Best known for their acclaimed post-rock band The Gentleman Losers, working in projects like Speed Mountain, Montauk, Palestar, or through elegant movie soundtracks, the three have made a name for themselves among fans of classy, dark electro-pop music.

After the release of their "Tempest" EP, selected concerts in Europe and tasteful collaborations as with Adam Port (Keinemusik) or Magdalena (Diynamic), LSSNS have now recorded their dense and immersive debut album: "Transit" will be released digitally and on vinyl on 13.10.2023.

Hailing from Berlin duo Me And My Drummer release their sophomore album "Love Is A Fridge" in February 2016. In their first single "Blue Splinter View" singer Charlotte Brandi hauntingly depicts the end of a relationship subtly turning into a friendship. "Not because they don't love each other anymore, but because their love has transformed more into an asexual brother/sister relationship and could not keep up with the desires of the two kids", Brandi explains. "A song about spinning around your own axis in space."

Three years after the release of their highly respected debut album "The Hawk, The Beak, The Prey" this outstanding band looks back on a colourful as well as restless story. Now, with "Love Is A Fridge" they achieve new heights. "Blue Splinter View" pools a lot of what makes for the special nature of this record. It reveals the force and intimacy Me And My Drummer's musical uncompromissingness creates. A captivating immediacy they celebrate in their music and continue to determine.

Just before the release of "Holygram", the debut album of La Boum Fatale, the 2nd single "No Tongue in Cheek" is out. The track documents the past development and shows La Boum Fatale more solid and self-conscious, straight-lined and rough. 

For the musician and producer Antonio de Spirt, La Boum Fatale has always been testimony of cooperations, of creative exchange and friction. Most parts of the album are joint works with artists, whose output de Spirt appreciates a lot. "No Tongue In Cheek" is a collaboration with the Danish musician and singer Asbjørn. The song comments on the selective tendencies in modern dating and general social culture. "How does true love blossom when we have become so individualized", singer Asbjørn wonders. In the heated track the narrator is looking for someone capable of answering and eventually teaching this. 

Like the first single "Walls", "No Tongue In Cheek" is accompanied by a remix EP. In six tasteful reworks Antonio de Spirt assembles old and new pals like 9b0, Matvrak or Kirrin Island and illustrious names as NGHT DRPS, Liam Black and Austin Edward. 

Since the release of La Boum Fatale's debut EP "Damwild" a lot of time passed. The musical alter ego of the at that time Hamburg based musician and producer Antonio de Spirt started out of nowhere with surprising ease and the secret hit "AAA" as well as a couple of remarkable electronica listening beauties. Rather than following the usual releasing routine, de Spirt - having moved to Berlin in the meantime - allows himself the luxury of the experiment. With an open outcome he works on driving live gigs in different set-ups, tries out music on the edge of graphic design, collaborates with producers like Glenn Astro or Sieren and pulls out unconventional remixes for Me And My Drummer, Hundreds or Sizarr.

Last year de Spirt finally works focused on tracks for a whole album. "Holygram" will be released April 8, 2016 on Sinnbus.

The beauty of transition. On November 10th the debut album of Yeah But No is released. The project of Berlin based musicians Douglas Greed and Fabian Kuss, that has grown into a band, tracks down the heaviness of breach and ending in rainy Electronica. It celebrates the energy within every change and the beauty of a new start. With smart compositions the duo airily maps the melancholy hidden in synths and drum machines.

Greed and Kuss get to know each other four years ago when the former was looking for a singer for new tracks. The tasteful success label Freude am Tanzen is releasing Greed's music at that time. He's touring through Europe, plays in Mexico and Australia. Also, with Mooryc he's releasing an album with the mutual project Eating Snow. After one hundred gigs in national and international clubs and on festivals as well as the release of a dozen of tracks together - among others on BPitch Control, Noir and Cocoon Records - both decide to split the artistic responsibility and start writing tracks jointly. 

In doing so, though, Greed and Kuss draw their energy from fundamentally different approaches. Greed describes himself as an autodidact, likes things to be decided by accident or mistakes. Kuss studied voice, has tried out every musical style imaginable in various bands and projects from jazz to funk or pop and let's the outsider's view affect this project. Between these poles they merge electronic music with classic song structures into a smart and captivating listening enjoyment and continue writing their Greatest Hits of Never Arriving. Always a hard ending, always a hopeful beginning.

Tale Of Us, one of the most magnificent acts in electronic music these days on one side, the spearhead of italy’s finest Life And Death – label of the month at Resident Advisor. And The/Das on the other side: 2/3 of Bodi Bill, Berlin’s electronic-folk-live heroes from germany’s upcoming tastemaker indie label Sinnbus. A strong handshake between indie pop and dance electronica.
 
Bodi Bill have been around since 2007 and have been constantly developing their unique sound, combining folk and electronic music to the most natural sounding thing. Known for their passionate, multi-sensual live shows, they have been across half the world in the meantime. Tale Of Us, praised for their incredible remixes done for Thugfucker or Who Made Who have met the guys in Berlin, where all of them live right now. And instantly recognized they are driven by the same motivation:going one step ahead, exploring new territories.
 
So, here is the first outcome of this promising collaboration: the two Me And My Drummer - remixes. Track one ist the soundtrack for dancing out of the dark into a new morning. Track two a magic listening track concentrates much deeper on the dark and atmospheric side of „Don’t Be So Hot“. Dreamy and gloomy, both remixes create a special kind of mystic atmosphere, refined by the airy, remarkable voice of Me And My Drummer’s Charlotte Brandi, that perfectly accompanies the haunting melodies, just tocreate intensive, yet touching tracks with a soulful dance vibe and little pieces of a post-rock attitude
 
The Tale of Us & The/Das Remix of Me And My Drummer’s „Don’t Be So Hot“ will be released via Sinnbus on 3rd December 2012.
