Cinematique is proud to present the next release. We welcome back our friends of 10dens for their final EP.

Yes, you've read it right: final EP. Earlier this year the duo unfortunately decided to stop making music as 10dens due to musical differences and the distance between the cities where they live. They've chosen to continue their friendship instead of risking it because of the music and the conflicts it sometimes brought along, something we can only respect. So let's think about all the good memories and wonderful music they've left. It will be followed for sure by new and exciting solo stuff of both Michael and Jurriën.

Having said that, we are honored to bring you this final 10dens release. Although their last full EP was released in the early days of the label, back in 2011, we have always considered them as close members of the Cinematique family. After their well acclaimed EP 'When the Skyline Crumbles' we've had the pleasure to release some loose tracks on Midnight Beats, remixes and especially their beautiful version of CardioWave's 'Dark Room' together with NY Fan. We are sure this final release will be a brilliant addition to their impressive discography and of course we do wish them both all the best with their future productions.

The classically trained musician Worakls surprises with yet another high-quality two tracker for Hungry Music. He dedicates the release and track one to the electro-mechanical, polyphonic tape replay keyboard named Mellotron. The Mellotron was often used by the Beatles, Genesis and King Crimson. It became a notable instrument in progressive rock during the 1960s until the 1980s. Worakls crafts a well balanced musical piece featuring the trademark Mellotron sound, combined with a cutting-edge and warm dance groove. The orchestral atmospheric elements give ‘Mellotron’ that indescribable timeless touch that Worakls delivers so well.

Next up is the dramatic & energy filled ‘Pandemonium” composition. Worakls once again skillfully combines not only two but three musical genres and molds them into an epic dance track. The string section and diabolical brass instruments set the dramaturgical vibe, while the various layers of guitars rock their way into mayhem. The strong 4/4 beat carries the musical elements gracefully and provides full dancefloor compatibility.

Founded during a cold winter night on the island of Grimsey in Iceland, Abe’s focus and aim is to create and conserve timeless moments through their music. Like a formation of Northern Lights that reveal themselves to their spectators, the music of Abe is developed outside of our modern world and its regulations. It’s dark and soulful techno, both simple and complex.

The title track “Our Land” kicks things off on a lavishly transcendental note, with layers of sounds craftily filling the complete frequency spectrum. A bass heavy synth melody and crisp, precise hats compliment each other skilfully, whilst the drums and effects used provide the piece with a much-appreciated organic feel. The over eight minute composition morphs and builds without being obtrusive and is sure to leave its mark on dance floors worldwide.

Next up is the menacing “Black Horse”, which boils gently until it erupts for an ultimate peak time climax. Here we see Abe focusing on the darkest side of their work, fusing a howling bassline with a thrilling arpeggiated melody, energetic shakers and a distinct midrange synth motif. The vibrant percussion and shadowy atmospheres are sure to elevate crowds whenever played on a finely tuned sound system.
