someday I will write a short fable about 
this Serpent. who, while climbing a tree spied a nest
And that nest was watch over by a bird
That bird raised a ruckus in an attempt to scare the serpent
So loud that a nearby sleeping bear woke to see the ruckus
the bear didn't care much for snakes or birds 
but in a rash and angry attempt he swatted at the bird
striking the lowest limb, knocking it down, serpent bird and beehive all landing on the bears head  
 the serpent still gets the egg

It was supposed to be named Sample Sunday, but I have actually finish it on Monday, it is an long-form exercise in improvised loop switching and live mixing.

Disquiet Junto Project 0579: Memory Serves
The Assignment: Rerecord a piece of music.

I chose https://krakenkraft.bandcamp.com/track/star-spawn from a 2017 release, which means I may have made it 2016 or 2015. 

Originally it was completely made with the compact DAW Caustic for Android. This time I used only the MIDI data export and rearranged it in Reaper with u-he Repro and Arturia Mellotron. 

Main objective was to get closer to my perception of the spirit of Berlin School style sequenced electronica. I put a lot of efforts in it and it is definitely more sophisticated. Nonetheless I'm not sure wether I really like it more than the original in every aspect.

The created spaces enrich the track, give more emphasis to the remaining instruments - and a deeper meaning of its own to this composition.  As contradictory as this may seem...

Disquiet Junto Project 0591: The Loneliest Number

Last summer, after an accident, I had to stop playing double bass. This is my second attempt to get back to the instrument after months of silence, I thought this could be a nice opportunity to share the process and slowly start to get my hands on it to see how it feels and how my body responds to playing.
Focused on improvisation, gesture, silence and number 7. 

7 seconds of music are followed by 7 seconds of silence. 14 seconds of music are followed by 14 seconds of silence. 21 seconds of music are followed by 21 seconds of silence. Repeat and then decrease time until the last 7 seconds of silence.
Loosely based on recording pre-count at ~ 60.50 bpm 
No timer was used during the process, so there may be irregularities.
I only played my double bass open G string with a bow.
Added some slight Mimeophon delay-modulation then a bit of chorus + phaser + tape effect (encoderaudio Ferro) in Ableton Live.
I kept volume low in order to make it possible to work on it and mix further things for future use.

A pelican, living as a fresco on the facade of a house, far from its natural habitat. He dreams of getting away from the traffic, into nature.

This track has a meaning and a raison d'être of its own - but is intended as first part of an asynchronous trio as proposed by the Disquiet Junto Project 0591:
