I was too gassed off this beat when I made it, there's nothing I rate more as a producer than taking a piano sample and making what is technically a simple beat, but one that has that ill 90s NY vibe. It's just so satisfying to me, and is one of my favourite sides to making beats like this for sure, something so simple can be so dope, when it's the right chops and the right drums etc, it just comes together into something which has that pure hip hop feel. 

This is also a classic example of slowing down a sample to give it that Hip Hop flavour (famously done crazily well by Havoc on Shook Ones and Survival of the Fittest), which I almost always try when I'm making beats. particularly with piano samples. On this one it just worked perfectly, I remember at the time I couldn't have been happier with how it changed the vibe of the chops, allowing me to make something completely new and different out of the sample, which is always a great feeling and something I definitely strive for in my production.
