Anyone who has followed this journey on instagram knows how slow and personal the recording of this song was! It took a while but it's finally here.

"so lately I’ve been really inspired by Jameela Jamil’s I WEIGH movement and the beauty of how people come together to fight against celebrity ideologies and to express the realities of life 🌻 honestly thinking about it’s relevance to my own situation kind of lead into a few existential crisis’ but they helped me to understand my own path and why I am where I am, it forced me to realise the difference in being ‘healthy’ and being skinny. I’m not skinny, I’ll never be skinny. But I can be healthy by treating my body with respect and eating foods that my body doesn’t react to!! It’s so important to look after your body, you’re going need it. All of this kind of lead into a song about treating your own and other peoples' body with respect and supporting anyone who has or had an eating disorder. So this is the story of Hunger Strike."

This is a new original of mine that I debuted at Nannup Music Festival 2019. This tune explores some emotions I was experiencing at a time in my life where, due to certain circumstances, I felt as though I couldn't check up on somebody once close to me.

As part of The 1975’s takeover of The Face, we’re releasing a series of podcasts featuring frontman Matty Healy in conversation with his musical heroes.

Presenting the one and only Stevie Nicks. Yes, this is literally a podcast with Stevie Nicks. Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac. 

It goes without saying that Healy was honoured to speak to the singer, songwriter, poet, and all-round Fleetwood Mac frontwoman. The feeling, luckily, was mutual – it turns out that Nicks is a massive fan of The 1975.

You’ll be forgiven for thinking that West Australian alt-country/rock singer songwriter Siobhan Cotchin is well beyond her 19-years of age. Her newest debut single, ‘Tear Myself Apart’, tells of crushing feelings revealed with emotional clarity.
