FREEFALL COLLECTIVE – SOUNDS OUT OF TIME 
Bursting out of time and slamming into the sunshine, the new album from Freefall Collective, Sounds Out of Time is primed and ready for ignition.
Freefall Collective cut their teeth as a band who pioneered live dance music performance. With seminal releases such as Overdrive, 100% People, Supafrequency and Kermit’s Crafty Coconut along the way, they carved a distinctive niche as masters of improvisation, freestyle artistry and live energy. Over the last 8 years, they have blazed a trail though clubs and festivals alike with their intoxicating fusion of dub injected roots, dancefloor mayhem and scorching lyrical flows. Soundscaping the staggering shows of the one and only Arcadia Spectacular in 2010 and again in 2012, Freefall have consistently set new standards of live experience.
Their new album, Sounds Out of Time distils the essence of their live performances over the years into one fluid musical journey. Unleashing secret weapons from the arsenal for the first time as well as laying down fresh new beats, the album is designed to be both a retrospective capturing those fleeting live moments and their stamp on the sounds of 2012.
An album made up solely of relentless bangers was never going to be Freefall’s style, and the story swerves through the dancefloor destruction of the universally acclaimed Ignition and Ganjaman into the sweet spot of rolling, reggae driven groove and tantalizing flickers of old school magic. Epic tracks like Truth and Rights and Inside Your Mind sizzle with passion, acoustics whisper through About This Time and raw hip hop steps up in deeply emotive tracks like My Space and the urban pulse of Busted.
Words like ‘unique’ and ‘genre busting’ are thrown around dance music far too often, but that is exactly what this gloriously eclectic album manages to pull off. Burning with fiery bass, baptized by dub and infused with a penetrating lyrical soul, Sounds Out of Time fuses club lockdown with the sunrise of a festival dawn.

Bournemouth crew Freefall Collective make their well-deserved debut on
Rat Records with a barnstorming cut that will have the bodies flying
round the room. Splicing rave-fuelled energy with ragga-driven
breakbeats of the chunkiest order, Renegade is the absolute boom ting,
a party shocking slice of rollicking rudeboy bass and rhythm with
truckloads of attitude and verve.

Label boss Deekline gets his hands on the collective's
iconic Ganjaman track from earlier in the year and recruits the mighty
Rubi Dan to drop driving vocals over the top for a booming shot of
siren mayhem. Titled the Swagger Jackin' VIP mix, the result is an
instant floorfiller that can't help but get the place jumping.

On the flip, Renegade is the absolute boom ting,
a party shocking slice of rollicking rudeboy bass and rhythm with
truckloads of attitude and verve.

On this evidence, we await future efforts from Freefall Collective with bated
breath.

It’s not so long since we were blessed with “In A Huff” and “After My Bae”, and already Herr Meth is back to provide us with a third goldmine EP full of homemade bangers: “Lost My Meth”, this time with a slamming remix by his partner in crime DJ Frankie. 

Still as angry as ever, all efforts by the Brainwaves’ chain of command to keep the Meth under a semblance of stability have been absolutely fruitless, and when he is not busy pumping out bangers for the expectant masses, he spends his time with his mischievous and potentially imaginary alien friend Brian, dropping bombs in nightclubs and generally consuming inhuman quantities of illegal extra-galactic crystal substances.

We loved what Backdraft was doing on Botchit... they had a rebellious sound that we found affinity with. So we had to ask them to do us a single and this was it. Labrat is a classic of the scene and Aquasky and Mampi Swift went onto to remix it in 2006 (PASA030). Still going strong today, Backdraft is one of our favorite producers.

The last release on Passenger for 2004 and its from the trio that is The Breakfastaz. These guys were also inspired by our earlier breakbeat releases and again we are proud of that fact. These guys were awesome back in the day and these days they write pop music for lots of famous names and also work on The X-Factor... so you know they have talent!

I love all of these boys works, one of my all time favourite groups in the dance scene. They knew how to combine melody and bass to give you the RUSH FACTOR!
