DJ SIR AIVA is the founder of the Drum’n’Bass scene in Faro and one of the reference DJs in the Algarve underground nightlife.

Born in Lisbon and living in the Algarve (southern Portugal) since 2002, switched from the drums to the decks in 2003. 

SIR AIVA's music is influenced by a background in surf/skate/snowboarding and many long journeys throughout the Globe. His sounds show a surprising variety in style, ranging from downtempo to breakbeat, as well as within Drum’n’Bass - the genre where SIR AIVA has built his reputation. 
Since 2005 DJ SIR AIVA has been active in the radio promotion of bassline music, through radio shows on RUA FM 102.7 (Rádio Universitária do Algarve) and Radio Fragola (Italy), or airing on RuFF FM (Germany) and Radio Oxigenio (Lisbon, Portugal). Presently hosts the infamous S.C.U.B.A. drum'n'bass radio show on RUA FM, spinning both the international stars and the portuguese upcoming talents

In well over 10 years of DJing, SIR AIVA took charge of the decks in clubs north to south of Portugal and Europe. Shared line-ups with world class DJs such as Goldie (UK), Netsky(BE), Inside Info (UK), Prototypes (UK) or Trei (NZ) and also bands as Dub Inc (FR) ou Dub Pistols (UK). Around Portugal regularly shares the turtables with all the national top DJs (Nuno Forte, Alif, Nokin, Oder and many more).

From 2012 onwards DJ SIR AIVA is supported by K2 snowboarding.

Get ready for some solid Drum'n'Bass, starring thick basslines and robust drums involved in space-travelling synths and heavy loads of pure vinyl.

DJ SIR AIVA foi o pioneiro das rotações aceleradas do drum'n'bass em Faro e é hoje uma das referências da 'Bass music' no Sul do país.
Já leva mais de 10 aninhos de gira-disquismo no lombo e vem de uma história algures entre o rock e o indie, fortemente baseada na cultura skate/surf/snowboard.
Sempre fez por andar fora do trilho mais batido no que diz respeito ao DJing. Numa altura em que o drum'n'bass era uma miragem a Sul da capital, já rodava discos a 180bpms em caves escuras. Sempre navegou à frente dos ventos da moda e, fiel ao vinil, foi dando a descobrir os prazeres subtis das linhas de baixo para criar um movimento que se tornou sólido e fiel à essência inovadora do drum'n'bass.
Pelo caminho mandou-se lá para fora e tanto em casa como além fronteiras partilhou a cabine com DJs internacionais de topo como Goldie (UK), Netsky(BE), Inside Info (UK), Prototypes (UK) ou Trei (NZ), bandas como Dub Inc (FR) ou Dub Pistols (UK), além dos suspeitos do costume cá do burgo tipo DJ Ride, Nuno Forte, Alif, Nokin e tantos outros.
Entre anos de rádio e km de estrada, a paixão de rodar discos e criar novos mundos a partir da mistura de músicas continua a mesma.
