WSNWG’s catalog continues to expand with a new collaborative release. For the upcoming record Rødhåd teams up with the french producer and live performer UFO95 who also previously appeared on the ‚Crimson Rubeus’ compilation back in April. 

In the beginning of this year the two artists spend a week together in the WSNWG studio to recorded ‚LAVANDE‘ a powerfull 4 Track EP wich will be released on vinyl and in digital formats on the 7th of June. Across just three tracks, Lucinee packs in a world of sound design, fusing warm psychedelic swirls into driving techno with touches of ambient, whilst using her voice as an instrument throughout. The result is a masterclass in hypnotism and groove, with touches of nostalgia and the beating pulse of a packed dancefloor.
The aptly-titled ‘Drift’ floats us through a trance-inducing swirl of ambient grooves and subdued vocals, landing somewhere between the abstract and the visceral. Taking a more minimal turn, ‘Point Of No Return’ weaves its way through a smokey warehouse with surreal psychedelic echoes.
Rounding off the EP, ‘Napoleon Complex’ leans towards the darker sides of electro, with touches of EBM and cold synths driving into the night while exploring themes of fragile masculinity and the facades of power and confidence.
Hooning in on an impeccable production technique, Lucinee finds new forms at the boundary-pushing edges of electronic music. Like a drop of acid in a sea of sound, Point Of No Return is one for the heads.

CYRK is a live show and studio project by Sammy Goossens and Pascal Hetzel. They mix up a love of Italo, Detroit-influenced techno, acid and electro on cult labels like Running Back, Polari and Lone Romantic. This one sees them link with Hard Ton, aka Wawashi Deejay and heavy metal singer Max. They have been leading the way in Italo disco and Chicago fusions since 2008, often with anthemic vocal tracks that come with a proudly oversized queer persona.

'Take Me To The Top' is a superb collision of worlds—throwback 80s synth sounds, crashing drums, and Italo arps are all topped off with sensual vocals. The results are raw and physical but steeped in heartfelt emotion and brought to life with plenty of retro-future colours.

Remixer Jorkes is a force on the European underground who has the queer community at the centre of his work. He has released passionate house and disco on labels like Robert Johnson, Permanent Vacation and Freeride Millenium. The remix is a slightly more paired back trip infused with pixelated chord magic and warm, heartfelt grooves that
cruise through cosmic worlds with style and grace.

Reprise is a body of piano work exploring the idea of thematic repetition and development, and the intimacy of the solo instrument that allows these ideas to be driven forward. The piano offers an environment in which the building pillars of music - melody, harmony, texture, and rhythm can be presented in a raw form, free from heavy processing, and throughout the work I was keen to explore them in a way that shows the instrument as vessel for delivering a wall of sound - Not just summed up by its elegance, but also in part defined by its imperfections. 

The opening track ‘Mourning’ juxtaposes floating scalic passages with harsh arpeggio sforzandos, before a resting point is found in ‘Memory Edits’, which is based around the idea of build up and then sudden change. The third track ‘Silhouette’ consists entirely of arpeggios, picking up the pace before leading in to ‘Intention’ which offers further restlessness. The fifth track ‘Fall' begins with a softly played passage which is repeated throughout the piece at a more severe dynamic, showcasing how interpretation can be the driving factor for the piano. Track number six ‘Decay’ once again builds up a rapid pace, before the final, and title track ‘Reprise’ offers reflection on the music that has proceeded it, piecing together and concluding the work as a whole. 

Overall the work is very personal to me. The piano is where everything began for me in terms of seriously getting in to writing music, and this project is a culmination of ideas that have been below the surface for years. All my work begins on the keyboard, but 'Reprise' takes this starting point as its fundamental basis, stripped back of everything else.
