Its so pretty... searching for the light :) 

After posting the sketch, I kinda fell in love with the sound and style. I realized that it's a style I haven't really worked in for a while... if not once, really. In addition to that, it's also the shortest track with a 4x4 kick drum pattern I've written. It also doesn't start with the DJ courtesy beats. I tried fitting them in, but nothing that I did made it sound pretty and transitioned well into the song. So, I deleted it, started the track at the flowy intro. It stuck... but I definitely wanted to play this in clubs. I eventually looked at other people's tracks and determined that I should try once more with a club version of the track. Honestly... it was very difficult to do it.. but I managed to put one out. The club mix, however, will only be on the release =P

Also, I couldn't find a sample of a finger snap I liked. So I recorded one and stuck a fast stereo delay on it.

Update: At the request of a friend (and later, realizing he was right) I pumped up the kick drum. Honestly, it just sounds better. Previously, it sounded too dull. Didn't really match the flavor I wanted. You know when you listen to a track so much you think it sounds great every time? And then you come back two weeks later and you're like, "Oh... Oh, no... what have I done?" That was what THAT was like. I also removed the tail end kick drums. I hated ending it like that... Like I had courtesy beats for no reason. 

There will be a club mix of this track, and it will include courtesy beats. But I prefer it without.

Artificial Nature (Original Mix)
